I think all the interactions and conversations we are getting from Malini has been always about her needs as a wife, her doubts, going on dates etc etc. I have not seen an actual conversation about a general topic due to which they can have a neutral friendly conversation about. In the other conversations, she has either put down Imlie or did not stand up to her mom when Imilie was humiliated and we know how BS gets over protective in those situations. So for me I have not seen a conversation between them which can have a possibility of aome friendliness in it. I don’t know if I made sens ha ha - but I am curious to see what others have to say.

LOL if you take both those scenes on face value, then you won't understand Adi....but notice what happened before and after both those scenes and you will get your answers.

For the movie date, Adi was pointedly told by Mrs. C that no one is taking care of her daughter, and Adi's guilt trip got activated so he responded telling her that he will always take care of Malini since she's his wife....so then he went the extra mile to pamper Malini in the movie date and reassure her that he only loves her....lol why was the need to say that he only loves her? She never asked him for proof of love in that scene, but he automatically went overboard professing love😆.....so a guilt conscience was at work after Mrs. C again made it seem like everyone was neglecting Malini for Imlie....so Adi was compensating for that.

Also notice the difference in his reactions when he hears Imlie outside the room and the way he talks to her about having that doodh....it's day and night....the real Adi came out in front of Imlie in the way he showed his concern.....the Adi that was lavishing mushy dialogues on Malini in the room was an act.....and Adi is yet to realize how long he's put on that act😆

Then the V-day incident....lol again, Adi was maha reluctant to do ANYTHING for V-day....Nishant compelled him to buy things like that outfit for Malini and plan the whole setup....and then even when he got there, Malini was pouting and complaining that he doesn't do romantic gestures😆....that is when Adi put on the whole show of "romance" for her and Malini was pacified by it😆

The reason Adi was able to do all that then is because he hadn't realized his true self and what he actually feels......he isn't able to do any of it now cuz he is fully conscious of his true self and he feels doing any of this now would be a betrayal to himself and to Malini. He did it before cuz of lack of realization before....doing it knowingly now would feel like a direct betrayal....that is why he has totally shut off from her.....he doesn't want to give her that put on persona he gave her before either.....but Malini only wants that persona of his....she thinks that was the real him😆.

I found yesterday's episode really beautiful. The Tripati's scene (minus Malini), press conference and Adi-Meethi phone call. I just love it so much every time Adi calls Meethi amma. As soon as he accepted his feelings for Imlie, how easily he accepted Meethi as amma. In the future, I would love to see Meethi, Satyakam, Imlie and Aditya restaurant scene where Aditya invites Imlie's family for dinner. 😊I definitely want to see more of Satyakam-Aditya bond too, these 2 have so much respect for each other.

The way Aparna talked to Imlie before she left home, there was so much apnaapan in it. Like a mother talking to her daughter. She was cautioning her how to behave and at the same time cheering her and increasing her confidence. Just compare that scene with the way Aparna talks to Malini, with hesitation and with so much distance. She has known Malini for years and Imlie for months but there is a clear difference in how she deals with both.

I saw a clip on Insta - Aditya acknowledging Imlie without really saying her name when he got the press award and in yesterday's episode Imlie acknowledging Adi without saying his name. These two, I swear, the writers have done such a beautiful job with their bond. When Adi got his award, he said one token sentence for his family and wife (Malini), but he said at least 5 lines for Imlie....all that came from his heart as he had tears in his eyes. It clearly showed how much she had impacted his life by then. And yesterday, for Imlie after SM it was Adi she acknowledged. Again with tears in her eyes as her heart was full of what she felt for him and their relationship. These two, within months of knowing each other have had such a profound impact in each other's lives. What a beautiful journey it has been so far. 😊

In the precap, I cannot stop laughing looking at Adi's expressions. He looks so constipated, troubled, wishing to be in between 2 buffalos in PD than in the same room as Malini listening to her complaints. 😆 I am sure Adi will not open his mouth which will make Malini even crazier. This man is going to burst only when Malini says something to Imlie or about Imlie.

Without that, it will continue to be viewed as him supposedly overnight falling out of love with Malini, which would be a misrepresentation of what’s actually happened. Malini’s cluelessness has been long established so she will need it to be spelt out for her since she keeps saying she doesn’t know anything but somehow still has the capability to do twisted games like fake smiles and sari charity 🤷‍♀️. I don’t think Adi can sustain this situation that long in just this silent mode. Malini ko ya toh dates chahiye ya answers 😆....

The date cancellation did not happen in isolation. It happened because Imlie’s interview took priority. If he ends up saying the second MrsC dialogue which probably comes again on the heels of another Imlie episode, Malini will use that to divert the issue from Aditya to Imlie. She sees what’s happening so she will connect it the only way she knows how to - away from Aditya and towards Imlie. I mean, she did not even blink at the “I will support Imlie hamesha” line from Aditya. That was a big thing he said. That is the only reason I think that even if Aditya said something big like yes I made a mistake marrying you in response to her why did you even marry me question, kuch hone wala nahin. Speaking of that award scene, I'm also reminded of the coin scene that followed.....lol will Adi ever pull out that coin and remember Imlie through it again?

That was the first time he directly weighed both Imlie and Malini's gifts in either hand.....Malini gave him that shiny silver coin too😆.....after ruining the entire award moment with another one of her tantrums.

@bold: LOL I think it will be a tad harder for her to pretend ignorance over SUCH a direct statement from him about calling their marriage a mistake😆.....the importance given to Imlie she can still brush under the carpet somehow in her delusion....but him telling Malini directly that he thinks the marriage is a mistake is a pretty direct point after which she can no longer keep pretending he still wants to be with her. Uske baad whatever she does to keep holding on to him or to "rekindle" their relationship is another matter....but if Adi manages to say something like this to her, that's a pretty clear indication of his stance.

Ofcourse real drama will be saved for whenever she learns he married Imlie first but current situation mein Adi will have to make his stance regarding this marriage not working for him apparent in some form.....complete silence won't work indefinitely....yeah I get that he's using that approach cuz he doesn't want to tell her more lies....lol but kuch half-truth toh bolna padega beta.

In the meantime, yeah every issue will keep getting connected to Imlie somehow and Malini who is right now just barely covering up all her jealousy and resentment of Imlie with a big fake smile, will eventually burst out in a nasty fashion at Imlie too.

Nothing changed overnight. His progression has been pretty evident throughout - acceptance that he goes through this entire ocean of emotions only for one person and that was Imlie. AY mentioned it a couple of posts back as well - Aditya is discovering his real self now whereas Malini is finding out that she bound herself to a fantasy.

The movie date post bridge incident happened because AC taunted him about his care. Not that he does not care for her as a human being and a friend but that taunt egged him on to do more than what he would otherwise done. The Valentine’s Day bit also happened because the entire house wanted to make a big deal out of it after Nishant’s entry. And we forget that at both these points in time he was absolutely loyal to Malini, the only one he considered to be his wife.

Some may feel that he is emotionally distanced all of a sudden, but what that is overlooking is the fact that Aditya and Malini were never emotionally connected to begin with.

People don't change so drastically.....it is just that their true selves get revealed in time. Adi hasn't become a new person - it was just that he hadn't discovered his true self before this. I'm more and more convinced that Malini built up a fantasy about him since day one that he just didn't bother correcting for a long time....now that fantasy is falling apart as Adi discovers his own true self and Malini can't cope with the fact that she attached herself to a fantasy, not reality.

Rofl it was more about adi fact correcting her at some event and uske baad waiting for her outside and she thought that was it he was mesmerized by her beauty it her intelligence that she is intrested in current affairs. 🤣 and offering her a coffee date. So it will be hilarious if it gets revealed in his version that he was just being courteous about correcting her which is kinda of embarrassing in a press meet and he was only more focused about getting the facts right and then theynecame acquaintances to friends to dating.. malini's face would be worth it if she ever hears that but am so intrested in hearing thay version too😆

Okay your explanation totally makes sense. I might have to go back and see those episodes again but who is complaining. 😆 So what it seems like most of the time Aditya did something for Malini, it was either out of guilt or because he felt he had to do it to prove to Malini that he is a good boyfriend/husband. But it was not his real self. And he had not realized his true feelings then. So he pretended to do things for Malini without realizing that he was pretending. Aditya being a man of principles, he would hate himself if he was not a good husband to Malini then. So it was more like an obligation to him to keep Malini happy rather than it being heartfelt like he does for Imlie (sindoor scene, fighting the world to interview her, etc). For Malini, he only did things when she guilt-tripped him or someone else pointed it out to him, but he never did anything for her automatically just because he wanted to. I remember in that scene too, right after the wedding, they were going to their room for the first time and Malini was like you never do anything romantic for me, so Aditya carried her to their room. Again, it was not something Aditya initiated, it was only when Malini made him feel he is not romantic enough did he do something for her. Even the talk he initiated with Imlie after the restaurant scene before the last PD trip, he did it because he felt guilty after hearing Mrs C's words in the restaurant. Otherwise, he could never have handled Imlie going away from him, which we saw in the episodes that followed when Imlie left him to go to PD.

So the bottom line is with Malini, Aditya did things either out of guilt or because he felt he needed to do certain things as her boyfriend/husband....out of obligation. He never did things from his heart, he never initiated anything. He just followed what Malini wanted him to do. And we all know that the real Aditya is not a follower, he is his own person. That is a different thing he will follow Imlie to the moon and back 😆 but that's just because he cannot imagine his life without her any longer.

You know, I really want Aditya to go through all these realizations about his relationship with Malini. Out here in the forum, we have analyzed his 7 years with Malini way more than the writers have mentioned about it. The writers need to catch up with the forum. 😆

@bold: Exactly. If you view the Adi-Malini scenes objectively, you can see there was never a genuine emotional connect between them. Malini was living a fantasy and Adi was going through the motions of what he felt a loyal husband should do....she was the only one he consciously acknowledged as his wife then so he did all the things he felt should do as a loyal husband....and even went overboard in a guilt conscience as well as denial regarding the draw he was feeling for Imlie.

If you go back and watch the scenes, at every point, it becomes more apparent that every act of concern, affection for Malini was either stemming from her or her mother guilt tripping him or him doing things on autopilot....there was never a moment where you could see a genuine connect/understanding between him and Malini....at the most a general sense of care as a friend/companion...that's it.

Adi has made life difficult for himself by overcompensating in delusion for so long😆.....and now he will have to pay a price for all the Oscar worthy acting he did😆.....main toh tab bhi bol rahi thi ki award de do isko for such convincing acting in front of Malini😆.
