Right or wrong is such a subjective notion.

Each to his or her own.

I will watch Sairat as long as I can bear the drama. I used to watch this show on Zee. The leads had such amazing chemistry, the actors.. they were great friends off screen, and every scene together was fab. But it was a typical EK show... misunderstanding, false accusations of infidelity, you name it. I eventually stopped watching it because it just became a repetitive cycle of toxicity. The show is still running btw. And the couple is still great together.

So everything has its limit. I am watching only for Sairat at this point. It will run its course. I don't think anyone takes any cue from these serials for their real life. It's just so dramatic ..you can't think of it as real!!

BTW, Ayesha and Neil remind me of these actors. Great friends off screen. He is married with 2 kids!!

You know young girls do think that's how romance works..I just gave one example in my above post.. Apology after the fight used to be romantic for her.. you know what I am trying to say here..

None what is shown on TV is applicable in real life or should be taken as a source of inspiration, ESP ITV shows ( movies and shows based on real life story is different )

This is a story between two characters. Since it’s ITV without Addison so drama things won’t sell. Watch until you feel the connect. Watch it as pure entertainment?

I am glad people are aware about what is right and what is wrong. As long as you have that sense, no it’s not wrong to ship sairat.

for example if a movie is made based on a villain, and the acting is brilliant and you really like it. Would you stop watching the movie just because he is a villain and against your morals? There are so many factors to watching a show and if morality is your main reason for watching, then any ITV drama won’t fit that Bill.

I watch for how brilliant Sai and Virat are portrayed by the actors . I will ship them until I eventually get bored and move on. Yes I know what is right and what is wrong.

ITV maybe one small factor influencing people but there are plenty to get influenced by at a tender age , things at home, how you are brought up, SM , TV and movies in general. Each play a role in shaping ones thought.

Ultimately it’s the individuals to differentiate and learn. I as a teenager was into rom coms. I thought and gave love fancy thoughts but reality was different. I learnt And accepted it. Our life has many checkpoints to wake us up from fantasy.

Also none of the folks here are blind sairat shippers. They are aware when each character goes wrong and discuss different POVs. Some agree or disagree. No one is justifying what’s shown but we also understand it’s a fictional story and a love story so they will show a redemption arc and can’t drag that for too long because it’s drama. What is probably months will be shown as days on TV and will seem like Sai forgave him quickly. But again the story is fictional

I am sure there will be people who think an apology is everything. This is the typical abuse cycle. A lot of times, shows reflect real life more than the other way round. . Which is why we are able to recognise these patterns. Here Sairat's case, Sai is able to stand upto him, today's dialogue was telling - that he cannot intimidate her with his shouting. That is different. Most FLs begin to melt or run helter skelter trying to get evidence of their innocence. Here she tells him to do it himself. I called it the Sita's test of fire. She refuses to prove anything. The onus is on him.

So I watch out for these little victories in characters.

I try to look at serials as pure entertainment. But the day it gets too ugly, too boring with no growth for the characters, I will leave.

That's the classic for and against argument against certain movies too. Do movies reflect society's realities or vice versa?

Yes they do, Kabir Singh was one classic example. I had so many girls posting status with snippets of the movie, wanting a man like him . If he loves like that, I can take his anger.. I also gave an example in the above post of mine, some young girls do think that this is the idea of real romance.. Mills and Boon, the British publication, is one of the most successful publications in romantic genre.. 😆

If I had to stop watching a show expecting logic from it, then maybe there won't be any shows for me to watch. Yes I analyze, understand, love a character but that doesn't mean that I am ok with any such people in my life.

If I had to stop watching this show based on such things, I would have stopped it the day Virat has given his oh-so famous promise. It never happens in real life and I'd laugh if someone tells me that they did it. So we know how to differentiate between right and wrong. We still analyze the characters no matter what they do, but do we sit and analyze any person in any of such situations in real life? I don't think so. though I do observe people, their actions, views etc but I don't sit analyzing the way I do it with the fictional characters. (and I for surely don't write/read paragraphs trying to understand anyone)

For me, this is just a means of entertainment. I am not saying that I don't criticize them, I do. I have decided not to watch the last few episodes, you know, just like a cat which assumes that no one is watching it just by closing it's eyes, I follow the same with some shows after a particular point.

Sai and Virat, both were surely like a fresh air amongst the ITV FLs and MLs we have seen. But I don't see them in the same way anymore. That doesn't take away the love I have for them, maybe in future I might not be interested to watch them, but not yet.

So I might still give a chance to the show, if there is a proper redemption. For now, I have tried watching many other shows but none could gather my attention the way SaiRat did.

If I ship SaiRat or not will surely depends on how the redemption is done. My answer to your question is no, as long as you know that this is toxic and not to be okay with any such things in real life.

I don't know why I feel like laughing at this. I have a common friend, who thinks himself as Kabir SinghYou just can't have any logical discussion with him. Sometimes I decide if I can be friends with a person or not based on the fictional characters they relate to! I mean watching something for entertainment is different from making any such characters your idols!

I feel that people should be able to understand what you should not do, from such movies/shows, instead of just blindly following themI know I have deviated from the topic, but the mention of this movie triggers me though I haven't watched it
