SAIRAT OS – SAI’S FIRST FLIGHT

After Devi and Pulkit’s wedding and truth of the elders came out, things have been tense in the Chavan Nivas. Virat has finally convinced Sai to come back with him and they have been trying to move ahead in their relationship step by step. The house now seemed to be divided into two groups – one who stood with Sai and one who supported Kaku. But Virat had finally put down his foot and stated in no unclear terms that if Sai doesn’t get the respect she deserves as his wife and daughter-in-law of the house, he will have no option but to move out with his wife. Since then the elders have reached to an impasse. But since they did not provoke Sai intentionally, she also tended to ignore most of their taunts. Also, Virat has finally succeeded in getting her to call him Virat instead of Virat sir.

One such day, Virat returned from work excited about something. He had to attend a training in Delhi for 2 days which is followed by a long weekend. Since Sai had semester holidays ,he wanted to take her with him to spend some quality time with her. They have been quite busy since the last few few days due to her exams and his work.

He enters the house to see all the elders in the living room having their evening tea and snacks which were being served by Patralekha and Karishma.

Virat – Aai, Sai kaha hai?

Ashwini – Usne phone kiya Godu ki uska koi lab extend hua hai to wo thodi dher se ayegi. Tu bada khush lag raha hai, kya baat hai?

Virat – Mujhe aap sab ko kuch batana hai

Ashwini – Ha bol na Godu

Virat – Mera do din ka training hai Delhi mein aur uske baad teen din chutti hai meri to mein aur Sai do din baad subah ki flight se Delhi ja rahe hai.

Patralekha – Tum apne training ke liye Sai ko kyu lejana chahte ho Virat. Wo kya karegi waha tumhare saath?

Virat – Mein apne saath apni biwi ko kyu lekar ja raha hu iska jawab mein kisi ko dena jaruri nahi samajhta.  Meine sabko Sai se pehle isliye bataya hai kyu ki pichli baar ki tarah aap log koi tamasha khada na kare aur Sai ka mood kharab na kare

Kaku – Mast a mast. Us jungli mulgi ke aage tumhe kuch aur soojtha bhi hai Virat?

Virat – Mein uske aage kuch bhi dekhna aur samajhna nahi chahta kaku. I hope aap sab log koi bhakeda khada na kare pichli baar ki tarah

BK and gang makes faces but could not utter anything. Meanwhile Sai comes into the house excitedly.

Sai – Aai, mera yeh semester khatam hogaya aur kal se chuttiya, pure 15 days ka and hugs Ashwini.

Ashwini – Chalo acha hai, kitni mehnat kar rahi thi apni exams keliye, teek se khana bhi nahi karahi thi, dekho aur patli hogayi hai. Ab ache se aaram kar tu 15 din. Teek hai?

Sai – Ho Aai.

She sees Virat and starts speaking excitedly to him – Are Virat, aap jaldi agaye aaj. Kitne din hogaye aapko time pe ghar aye hue. Aur aaj kal apse baat karne ka time bhi nahi milta. Pata hai kitni kuch bolna hai aapko?

Virat – Are are mere toofan mail. Shaant hojao. Mein kahi bhage nahi jaraha hu. Tum pehle fresh to hojao phir tumhari sari baatein sununga mein. Aur waise bhi jab tum bolna shuru karti ho to sunne ke alawa aur koi option nahi hota mere paas.

Sai – Virat aap na…

Ashwini cuts her in between and says- Godu tu kyu meri bachi ko tang karraha hai? Bechari itni thaki hui hai aur tu hai ki uske aate hi shuru hogaya. Chup kar.

Virat – Ha ha aai aap to usi ka side lengi na. Jab se Sai se shaadi hui he na meri, lagta hai aap bhool gayi ki apka ek beta bhi hai. Apko apni beti ke alawa aur koi nahi dikhta hai

Ashwini slowly mutters to Virat – Ha jaise ki tujhe uske alawa aur kuch dikhta hai, nahi?

Virat smiles at Ashwini blushing slightly.

Sai goes to freshen up and comes down to have dinner. For once, the dinner in the Chavan niwas is done without any drama. Everyone retires to their room.

Sai keeps talking about how her exams went and all that happened in the last week to Virat. Virat couldn’t help but gaze lovingly at her. Ever since she entered in his life, his life had been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. But he wouldn’t change one bit of it, if it meant having her beside him always.

Sai sees him not paying attention and says irritated- Virat , aap sun bhi rahe hai mein kya keh rahi hoon? Kab se boli jarahi hun aur aap hai ki kahi khoye hue hai.

Everytime she called him by his name , Virat’s heart skipped a beat. Not wanting to rile her up any further he says – Sai, meine sab suna jo bhi tumne kaha hai. Mujhe bhi tumse zaroori baat karni hai.

Sai – Kya?

Virat – do din baad mujhe training keliye Delhi jaana hai poore panch din keliye

Sai’s face falls listening to him. She so wanted to spend some time with him, now that she has holidays. But she knew work came first so asks in a little voice – kab hai flight aapki?

Virat understanding her disappointment immediately says – sirf mein nahi hum dono jarahe hai.

Sai – Kya?

Virat – haan Sai, tumhara bhi holidays hain na, to tum bhi mere saath chal rahi ho

Sai – Nahi nahi, mein nahi chalungi aapke saath

Virat – Are par kyu?

Sai – Apko yaad nahi hai pichli baar kya hua tha? Mein bekar mein excite hojaungi aur last mein meri sari excitement khatam kar denge ghar wale

Virat – Is baar isa kuch nahi hoga, meine already sab ko inform kardiya hai

Sai – Sachi

Virat – Muchi

Sai – Matlab is baar mein pakka first time plane se jaungi?

Virat – Ha baba, is baar pakka jayenge aur ha window seat bhi tumhari, pakka

Sai squeals and starts dancing around the room.

Virat – Sai, dheere dheere. Sab jag jayenge.

Sai – Oh sorry, acha batayiye kitne din keliye jaana hai?

Virat – meri training 2 din ki hai, uske baad 3 din meri chutti hai to hum to hum poora 5 din rukhenge waha. Aur meri bhi packing kardena please.

Sai – Teek hai, aap bilkul befikar rahiye, mein sab packing kardoongi aur ID card bhi yaad se rakhungi.

Virat – Good girl

They keep talking late into the night and sleep with a smile on their face.

The next 2 days Sai kept fluttering like a butterfly all over the house and kept making plans with Ashwini for the trip and Virat was absolutely enjoying the unbridled joy on his wife’s face. The day of the journey, Sai comes down wearing a cotton kurti and jeans to be comfortable in the flight. Virat keeps gazing at her and gets reminded of their first meet and all their nok jhoks in GC. BK makes a face seeing Sai’s attire but before she could utter a word, Virat quickly ushers Sai outside the house saying – Sai jaldi chalo , hum late horahe hai. Chalte hai Aai.

Ashwini – Bye Godu. Apna aur Sai ka khayal rakhna aur pahuchte hi phone karna.

Virat – Teek hai Aai.

They reach the airport and board the plane. Sai is quite nervous and clutches Virat’s hand tightly once the plane starts to take off. 

Virat – Kya hua? Dar lag raha hai?

Sai – Ha thoda sa. Pehli baar hai na isliye.

She settles down once the flight is in the air but keeps holding Virat’s hand. They reach Delhi shortly and enjoy the next few days without any interference from the family.

Small attempt on Sai’s first flight ride. I remember how excited that girl was for Ladakh trip and how ruthlessly the Chavan Nivasis trampled down her joy and excitement.
