Ram ruled over the earth for period of 11000 years. Then he divided his kingdom and treasury among the offsprings of four brother each of whom had 2 sons

Bharat sons were Taksha and Pulkal .Taksha set up Takshashila and become the king of that land.Pulkal setup Pulkalavati in Gandhar and reigened as king there

Shatrughan has two sons Bhupakete and Subahu.Bhupaketu was given Vidisha and Subahu was given Mathura to rule as kings

Laxman sons were called Angad and Chitraketu . Angad was assigned Karupath and Chitraketu Mallahadesh Chandraga puri

in the end Rama gave his son Luv Kush there share of kingdom .Luv was given Lavpur(present day lahore) and the elder Kush was made king of Ayodhya

I read somewhere that in Sanskrit "varsh" can mean year or day. So my personal feelings is (and I hope I dont offend anyone) is that Shri Ram ruled for 11 000 days! which roughly equals to 30 years. This sounds more logical and plausible.

So If Shri Ram was 27 when he went into exile, the coronation took place when he was 41. And he must have taken Jal-Samadhi when he was 71. Another belief is that he was 17 when he left for exile - in that case jal-samadhi would have occured in his 61st year.

thanks a lot for the info! So Kush was the elder...funny I would have thought it would be Kush-Luv then! 😉

Remembering all their sons' names is quite a task though!😳

And wasn't Laxman banished by Ram before his samadhi or something like that???
