Mukul Dev talks on 'Ganguly Vs Dravid'

If cricket has been the national passion, Rahul Dravid's captaincy has become the current obsession. Was Ganguly a better captain or has Dravid proved himself?

I always thought Dravid would do a good job. But there have been many matches where Ganguly has taken Dravid's current position and performed really well.

Of course, it's quite early to judge right now. Dravid should be given some more time to prove himself. But I still feel that Saurav is a better captain.

Mukul Dev

I have not been in touch with cricket because of my shoots. I do agree that good captaincy is very important, but the performance of the team is not really related to that. Sometimes the team performs exceedingly well, otherwise it's terrible.

A captain has to be an icon like Imran Khan or Kapil Dev. I never did think that Ganguly did a bad job. It's really too early to judge Dravid's performance as a captain. Saurav has a killer instinct which will not spare any team.

I have been watching the current series. I think Dravid is doing a good job, that's been proved by the series till now.

But I also think that it's kind of early to judge his performance as captain. He has played a lot, but playing as a captain is certainly different. It's all smooth sailing as of now. Let's see his performance under the pressures which have been faced by Ganguly till date.

I don't really watch cricket. But I am updated about the latest happenings, like the series being played between India and Sri Lanka! As of now, it is being proved by Dravid that he is quite capable of heading the team. Hmm... I won't say it's too early, but yes definitely a little early to judge anyone's position. But yes, my personal favourite captain remains Dravid.
