Characters are telling you the wedding was fake, creators are saying the same, They are the ones enacting and presenting the show. They tell you it was fake means it was fake as simple as that

Katy, don't worry. It's Bon story only. No matter what they show Bon can never be compared with Manorama, let alone Mini. She is caring and selfless and she will always remain that.
Even if they scream for the ZILLIONTH time that the marriage is fake , nothing changes , absolutely nothing!What's broken is broken beyond repair . And moreover , what a disgraceful implication it bears , creating a mockery out of every marriage be it real or hoax.Absolutely baseless , illogical and exasperating! "Fake marriage" , a highly annoying term! Fake marriages are unheard of even in the millennial generation , forget about 1920s.
Well of course the makers are justifying every action and abuse from Anirudh by showing his emotional monologues , tearful conversations with Dugga maa , soliquising regrets !
Never thought his obnoxious actions would be glorified and encouraged so magnificently!
And about security , well that's something her life lacks the most at this point , her mental sanity , health , security and well being has been well snatched from her .

The show is telling you that women were expected to keep wedding vows and rituals above themselves but do keep in mind that these vows are created by society, the same society which says they should burn a child with her dead husband, the same society which forces a woman to remain a doormat of her husband, the same society which stops her from studying and crushes her self respect
This show is asking Bon to rise from trope of marriage and find a path for herself, But sadly all I read here is "Marriage, wedding, Patni pati, rights, Bring another man for Bon"
I don't put rituals, relationships above people, Marriage is just a social contract, People who are in it are allowed to break it if they don't like living with each other.
The mockery of marriage is there because if you look at the married couple, one of them is a Child

We are pointlessly debating over the real and fakeness of the marriage , when what needs to be said is the torturous repercussion and unhealthy impact it has put on the little child , harrassed her young mind and shattered her pure soul!
A marriage being fake will definitely not justify the ruthless behaviour and cruelty!
It's a highly contemptible move! Popularizing fake marriages , bringing them to the upfront and exploiting the vulnerability it brings to the child! It's not as simple as that.

A child should not get married, it is really as simple as that, A child should not be expected to keep vows she made when she had no understanding of it, a marriage should not be treated like every other marriage when the base of it is child marriage, Sati pratha and compulsion to marry a child to protect her.
