I haven't seen both S1 and S2 fully BUT I prefer Maya's character in S2 more than Maya's character in S1. S2 Maya was still grey and dark but human too and felt contradictory emotions if you know what I mean. Whereas S1 Maya was an out and out psycho imo.

Yeah I only watched S2, but after Rishi's death I was torn - a part of me was like, she has to suffer for this (poor kid) and the other part was still rooting for her to come out the winner. Ofc if the show had continued to its proper end, the only "justified" ending would have been Maya being on her own. How can you forgive your wife the murder of your innocent brother? Like, even if MJ and the rest deserved it, Rishi did not. So a part of me knew it would have to be an ending where Maya wins the war, but loses everything else.
Jenny's voice is so damn sultry as Maya, I think that adds a lot to her screen presence. I sometimes cannot believe it's the same girl who played whiny Sneha and Ridhimma version-whatever...
Maya the character I believe was always meant to be negative or seen as evil - as in it was sketched like that. But I honestly believe that Jenny made her grey. The way she emoted the pain you could feel it. When she hated someone you felt that hate and understood it. I mean in my head as the story went on I was desperately trying to figure out how she would get her happy ending and not loose everything. That’s how invested I was to see her happy. Lol. But there was no redemption she forgot two wrongs don’t make a right. They never do. I think had she not killed rishi and broken his heart then she would have got her happy ever after. But rishi so innocent was just. Eurgh.

Agree with this Nikki. I think season 1 was her being a psycho and showing that side. But like I said in the above post. Jenny made a character like Maya grey because you felt her pain and understood her need for revenge. She appealed to the side of humanity that everyone has but doesn’t want to admit. Sometimes we get wounded so badly we will do the unthinkable to settle scores. Not that I am justifying it but that’s how I saw it. Her soul was shattered in season 2 and I do believe if you don’t have a soul you loose that moral compass of what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’.

When she killed rishi na, i literally cried. I had tears in my eyes. For rishi but for her as well.
Because i knew that there was no going back, no redemption nothing after this. That eps...i knew that mayaa would never be "happy" the way we wanted her to be!!

I still remember that scene...him bleeding out on the roof, begging her to love him, thinking this was all some game and she would save him 😭 prior to this I found the kid cute but kind of annoying, but man my heart broke for him 😭
yeah, there was no way she could have come back from that. And tbf to her, she carried that guilt the whole way through.

In that scene what I felt was that Maya at that moment there was no redemption or happy ending for her. So she didn’t think of the consequence of her actions in that sense. She literally lived for her revenge and she was going to end her story after that. Love Jenny 🖤
