What if Adi comes back and Tripathis tell him that AC has made the suggestion of you and Malini seperating and Adi's reaction to that is to think to himself, "Mujhe yeh Malini se alag hone ka idea galat kyun nahin lag raha"? 🤣
This is exactly how most of his realizations start....he's initially all like, "yeh mujhe sahi kyun lag raha hai....main pehle toh aisa nahin sochta tha" blah blah....then it hits him like a bolt of lightening ki this is what he actually wants😆
As usual, Adi will have AC to thank for putting things into motion that he otherwise may not have had the guts to consciously confront in his head😆. Woh bike confrontation bhi AC ki lagaayi hui tili se hi hui thi jiska itna rolling effect happened ki Imlie left and he also ran after Imlie to PD😆.
The thing about resolving the mess that Adi & to some extent Imlie have made by hiding their marriage is how to begin with the process. What needs to be revealed? What needs to be kept hidden? Or do they want to reveal the entire truth?
Adi may want to only focus on separation from Malini without revealing the truth of his marriage to Imlie. He may want to protect Imlie from the repercussions because he cares about her fiercely & will not want her to be in the firing line directly. But then this will further complicate matters if later on the truth gets revealed from some other source.
Whatever route they or destiny chooses for them, both of them & their relationship are going to be under fire. People may anyways accuse them of having an affair even without revealing the marriage truth because Adi & Imlie both will not be able to hide their care for each other under one roof. Adi more so because the contrast in his initial behaviour & current behaviour with Imlie will be noticeable.
The T family will also be a hurdle in accepting their relationship. This stems from them being a middle-class family & their aversion to ideology of divorce.Their motto is to keep all the relations intact. Divorce is a very big thing for them. Even Rupi I believe is only separated from her husband & not divorced. They are still expecting a reconciliation even after knowing that her husband is a cheater. So there is a clear no divorce policy being followed.
This traditional mindset of the family will also be a hindrance to Adi Imlie's relationship. Because even if Adi & Malini agree to divorce somehow, the family will be against it.
Also the issue of Malini & Imlie being half sisters....
Oh god the list is never ending....😆

LOL I would otherwise have totally thought ki yeh guilt mode mein chala jaayega alag hone ke idea pe and try to nibhaao but now I'm just thinking through all the past patterns.......isko kayi ideas khud se nahin aate - someone puts them in his head and then he starts pondering over them.
Like woh zaroorat waali baat le lo....woh waali baat Editor saab ne iske dimaag mein daali thi in the context of Imlie😆....uske baad se he started turning it over in his head ki "Mujhe Imlie ki kabse zaroorat hone lag padi"😆.....and finally in PD, he realized and admitted that Imlie uski zaroorat hai.
*Edit: I just went back and rewatched....even the dil mein jagah banaa li hai wala idea initiated from Editor saab only 🤣....wohi sab Adi ne baad mein confirm kiya in PD.
Yeh Malini se alag hone waali baat bhi writers cleverly won't put in either on Imlie's or his suggestion....koi external catalyst se bulvaayenge....in this case, AC is being shown to put the idea out there😆.....and now Adi can react to it, process it and come to the conclusion that that would be the right decision for both him and Malini to seperate since he can't give her what she wants.
LOL I think it was a little longer than that.....it's been nearly a month since him and Malini started having issues in the show's timeline😆......and those issues were never resolved....just glossed over.
The difference is in the TYPE of lovey dovey things he was saying to Malini v/s what all he is saying to Imlie now😆.
Despite all the popcorn, movie date, groveling, I love only yous to Malini, he was not even 1% of this restless over wanting her with him that he is when it comes to Imlie.
