I think it was more a casual comment.. she was not fishing for anything there she just casually mentioned it and let what was going in her dimmag in that moment come out since she felt that all the more with dadda crying and leaving then her Amma not being found and the pending goodbye with BS it was just that sab jaa rahe thay in the moment the people she feels close too considers her family ek dum se leaving her behind due to one or other reason and ek dum se aur methods hua and she said it 😆

Re: Imlie....yeah I don't think she was fishing for anything either....that whole scene was about the fact ki Imlie ko kuch pata hi nahin tha about all the upheaval that Adi had just witnessed with Dev-Mithi.....lol woh toh apne hi dimaag mein thi thinking about her mom....Adi burst out to stop her from finding about Dev-Mithi but when Imlie ended up getting hurt over his point, then Adi unraveled in a different way.

Inka sab kuch in the flow of the moment aata hai.....they never PLAN any big declarations😆. Even that hut scene....Adi koi plan karke nahin baitha tha wahaan that he will tell Imlie what's in his heart. It was only when Imlie said, "kya farak padta hai" that it all burst out of him. In Adi's case especially, the idea of Imlie not being with him, any suggestion of Imlie not mattering to him.....these are the things that pull out truths that he would otherwise lack the courage to face consciously.

I think by pehchaan, he does want to help Imlie make her name by getting her education/career set up.....and he wants to do it by supporting her as a husband....warna agar bas education support karna hota toh woh toh as a guardian figure bhi kar sakta tha. He basically wants to support Imlie in every which way as a partner now.....and everything that entails being a partner - the saath, the support, the love, the affection. He has verbalized it in some ways in the hut scene and after that too....but yes, he hasn't fully processed the RAMIFICATIONS of wanting to be Imlie's husband now....ki if he is Imlie's husband now, what does that make him to Malini whom he also married? Yes....how he goes about the process of separating from Malini is what we need to see. Because uski baatein toh yahi indication de rahi hai ki he wants to leave Malini & live with Imlie.
