Even though Adi is now caught up in this two sister wives situation, the entire matter began with a forced marriage. Adi rebelled against a forced marriage and married someone else. So his situation is different from Dev who chose to have an affair even after being already married. That said, in SK’s eyes, there won’t be much scope for nuance by the time he finds out about Adi-Malini’s marriage. 😆
Adi is also kind of making it worse for himself by now having played up the good damaad mode to this extent in PD. 😆....SK will feel rightly betrayed when he learns that Adi was playing the Jamaai in front of them and then going back to continue being husband to the other wife too. And then all the things that have happened in PD this time. Adi making these grand declarations of being Imlie’s husband every 2 minutes, spending a night out with her again. SK will definitely view all this in the Paapi zone again 😆.
The other thing that was making me cringe is the fact that Mithi also calls Dev Babusahib like Imlie calls Adi that. And when Mithi defends Dev saying he still made this effort blah blah, I had unwitting deja vu ki Imlie also will likely defend Adi in front of them all when the time comes. And I can only hope they handle it better.
I think as you said Dev and Aditya cannot be compared at all... Dev totally turned his face away, not even bothering to find out what the repercussions of his actions were or how Mitti was doing in life. Yes, he wanted to be faithful to his wife but he should have made sure that somebody else was not taking the brunt of his actions.
Imlie was forced into Aditya's life and even then, in which ever form he never left her to struggle on her own. Thought reluctant and angry which was expected, he always made sure that she was Ok and safe. Even in the begining when he was planning to leave her in the ashram, he could not do it and he came back. Now when he is planning to leave her based on her choice, he is trying to make sure that she is going to get a good career.
Beech raaste mein kabhi nahi chhoda usko and that is the core difference between them. That their thinking is different. When push come to shove, Aditya will never take a step back like Dev did, he will own up to his mistakes in PD and in Delhi because he is more SK in that way, hence the admiration for him.
One thing that was prominent in Mitti conversation was that she was defending Dev only for Imlie sake and because he is the father. That is being the theme since the beginning right, Imlie does not have a name of a father and Mitti seemed to be stuck on that, the father's name more that anything. She does not want anything for herself but just the acceptance for her daughter and I guess that comes from the "old school" thinking but SK does not even want the name of Dev to touch Imlie, because Dev is not worth it according to him. Name is not important, the actions are.
Re: Imlie defending Aditya, she might because Aditya has never hidden anything from her. They are an open book to each other and other than Doosri shaadi, she has always been Ok with everything because she thought there was an injustice done to him too. They have always been a team and they will always be a team.
