But they should have instead clarified that Abrar/Faruq/Zahida were not portraying Muslim culture but the thought that had entered everyone at some point. US versus THEM happened both sides.

They really need to remember the story before they decided on the new track. Lotsa stuff shown and not explored and then denied. Like how did Uday just agree to the kid thing and not have a conversation with her about why she stayed with Faruq for 6 months then? That also needed better closure rather than being brushed off coz he believed it and kinda almost hated her for a while thanks to her protecting him.
