I guess we don't know the extent to which they were physically involved but two years is a long time 😆 And they were clearly both planning to spend their life together so I don't think he was going to dump her. According to him, she was the one that was choosing to leave, not him. If it was up to him, he would have married her if she just gave up on Cambridge. So I'm sure that he wouldn't see it as him giving up on their engagement but her giving up on their relationship of two years.
