Thoughts on Adithya’s behavior

Adi always stands for the truth. And the only person he has been truthful to is imlie. Meaning she is the only one who knows everything about him because of the PD connection. He doesn’t have to lie to her. But it’s not the case with Malini or even his family. He found a companion in the lie.

maybe maybe his attraction is because he is losing that comfort and also every time he looks at Malini he is always reminded of his lie

Even if Imlie didn't appear at Aditya life

Millani is not the perfect life partner for him!

Their relation clearly lacks of so many things that build a strong steady and healthy relationship!

Their relation is very shallow and lacks for depth, and communication!

It is basically build on convenient, settlement, compromise, theories, and false assumptions!

I also now questioning their moments of finishing each other lines! Having the same choices, understanding him putting his job above all, I think now maybe this is much more of Millani over the 7 years due to her insecurity had build up a bank of going to the flow with Aditya and made changes to her self and thought to be more of a good and ideal partner for Aditya rather than growing her self as her own! Just to make sure making this changes will make Aditya love her!

Being together for a 7 years does not confirm a strong relation!

On the other hand Aditya was ok with that, comfortable with what he get, unaware of what he miss!

Without imlie he may not figure this out so soon, but sooner or later he will ! Coz the real insecure character of Milani will come to the surface as we see for a very little reason ! Which now this insecurity is tiding him up!

While with Imlie, he is now introduce to a very different place!

He begin to really connect to himself! To start to know new things that he never know about himself! He could be free, he could be fun, he could enjoy!

She challenge him in so many ways and aspects!

She brings the best of him!

He now introduces to new feelings he never experience before!

Now he figured , there is something more important in life more than a job!

With this selfless, joyful, intelligent soul how can he ignore his feelings!

She gave him without asking anything in return! She save him several times putting her life as a price! Never blame him once, so loyal to a relation he never acknowledge, love his family and success in fulfilling her duty as a daughter in low without owning the title!

How can someone don't see all that!

So putting all that aside, and considering the base of Adilli good relation is that they shared a secret , and the fail of Adoon is due to hiding a truth, is just not fair !

You bring up a very interesting point, and I think that I agree with you. In general, there seems to be this bond built between Adi and Imlie BECAUSE they went through the traumatic experience together. Like as accusatory/hostile Adi was during the early days after marriage to Imlie, she was like the only person he could be directly confrontational towards without covering up or lying. She is literally the only person he can discuss the reality of his situation with openly, so it makes sense that he feels his most organic self with her (she knows abt his relationship with Malini, with work, with his family members, etc.- kinda all aspects of him, so he doesn't have to hide much and can open up freely). I feel like the conversation that Malini and Nishant had the other day abt the inevitable reality of people and relationships changing with time and situation is so true, and that's the case with Adi and Imlie. As terrible and traumatic the gunpoint shaadi was for both of them, it still happened and it still took residence in their conscience (whether conscious or subconscious). And, the reason Adi thought that he would hate Imlie (for being trapped in this lie with her) has actually been one of the main driving factors of endearing her to him.

Very interesting.

More than the lying alone with Malini, the foundation of their relationship seems to have always been wrong. Malini wants something more than what Aditya can offer and vice versa. Which means their 7 year relationship has been one long deflection.

PD bound Aditya and Imlie in an equation that did not have any space for deflection between each other. And that is the reason they were able to build on it so faultlessly.

His relationship with Malini is very formal and more about pandering to her needs as along as it is not a hindrance to his goal. He appreciates the space she gives him and the efforts she takes to understand him. It was easy until PD to be truthful to her and you could see the confidence he had in her in the initial episodes that he could tell her the truth and solve the problem together. But he got a rude wake up call when she couldn’t even hear the truth and there was the minuscule crack started forming.

malini can can hear the truth only if it doesn’t affect her needs and her beliefs. Not finding fault in her but she is WAY WAY more into Adi then Adi was ever was into her.

I have to say I'd never thought about this. It's true a shared trauma can become a bond between two people and help them understand each other in a way no one else will ever be able to again.

However, I disagree that this shared experience is the only reason he feels most comfortable around Imlie. The whole family has stated that Adi is short-tempered, and in love with his work. He doesn't seem to eat with them, pray with them, heck he doesn't even seem to sit and talk with them much at all. Partially because how in love with his work he is, but I think also because a part of him doesn't connect emotionally with his family. Where the formality came from I don't know but it's there in literally every relationship Aditya Kumar Tripathi has, even before Imlie. (Some far more than others but still).

With Imlie though, she doesn't have that formality. She doesn't know what it means to be "sheri" and to not push her way in. It hurts her too of course to be scolded, but she pushes anyway, over and over until he lets her in out of sheer annoyance at that persistence. His family has taken a route of "don't disturb he doesn't like it" but she doesn't just walk away from him like that.

So it's kinda a 50/50 for me. Yes her being part of this lie with him makes it easier for him to open up right now. But generally, he has never really been that open with anyone (apparently Nishant was the one person he was really open with and that guy wasn't in the house for 10 years).

Wanted to reply more directly to you there's nothing wrong if part of the attraction is that they're in this lie together! Various things attract people to each other, and even if this marriage lie (hiding the truth?) is part of what makes Adi comfortable with Imlie, it's her sheer ability to care deeply about everyone around her that really seems to draw him in. Her love for his family moves him, her care for him moves him, her ability to laugh and play despite how hard life has been for her moves him.

So don't worry about these thoughts! It's just one part of a bigger package and that's just how life works

Not telling what is on your mind is also lying in one sense. Aditya is an average guy who was leading an average life. He found a beautiful woman in Malini who checked a few boxes in his list of requirements. Both of them pandered to each other’s perceived needs while dating and kicked the can of doubts/questions down the road. Putting blinders on is what led to the current situation. I do not know if Aditya or even Malini were always truthful. I think both of them used his career as the shield for not answering the niggling doubts and ended up in a place of complacency. Malini requires constant attention and living together is making it glaringly obvious that Aditya cannot deliver on it. Aditya has not really delved into whether he can continue appeasing those needs or even if he wants to until now. And Malini has never answered if she is ok with him not being attentive enough for the rest of their lives.

Malini is definitely on the surface more into Aditya than he is into her. But she will also end up realizing that he is not the center she needed to be happy.

Malini is obsessed with Aditya. Her whole life revolves around him. She will not ever even try to be happy without him. I'd like to see how her first interaction with Imlie will be on her arrival to T house. Deceptively sweet or honest and apprehensive. After actually having suspicious thoughts in her head about Adi and Imli - can Imli ever even come back to T house and how can Malini be comfortable with this? It will be interesting to see how they pull off Imli's return and if Malini even has a say in it.
