the rest of the stuff you have is more bull. Total bull. Must be all that rasam you been having 😂

Again cant answer anything so hide in shame. To me even 1950 is recent if you consider how old Delhi is. The orignal people of Delhi are not Punjabies as you keep claiming. Delhi has always been in the Hindi/Urdu speaking belt, learn something about your own country, you sound like some paindo who has never left his village

😂 more idiot stuff from you. Man don't you ever give up? 😂 So 1950 is very recent for you? How about 1858? Delhi was a part of British Punjab province as way back as 1858. Are you gonna tell us now that 1858 is also very recent for you? How old are you man? 😉 😉 😉

And what's paindo? Something you have with all that UP bhaiya food you consume? 😂

If anything, tandoor today is more punjabi than anything else. They made it commonplace in the Punjab and in many homes in north India. So lets not be making phony claims about the turks or whoever you got inventing tandoor. 😂

You also need to get over all that silly mughal fixation. 😂 They brought a lot of crap like the purdah system for women, and very little that was good 😉 😉 😉

people here are actually confusing mughlai cuisine with cuisine from the North West Frontier Province. The lucknow crowd was/ is into mughalai food- thats where you had those fancy nawabs. 😂 The punjabis on the other hand werent exactly steeped in mughal stuff. But they sure knew NWFP cuisine because a lot of them came from there (like the kapoors).

Sorry, but you are highly misinformed. It is a well known point that tandoor as we know it today was brought to India by Mughals and became popular in Delhi post partition (esp vegetarian tandoor). But it is clear from your second para, that you have a clear (and most likely misplaced) aversion to Mughals so any credit given to them will be unacceptable to you.

Forget the origins and who gets credit for what: I would really like to know you think is comprised in: Mughlai, Punjabi and the latest NWFP cuisines? Not interested in your

EDIT: Never mind the above. Not interested in having a discussion with a narrow minded person

Punjabi food sucks. All you have is tandoori this and tandoori that. Also 100000000000000000000 metric tonnes of spices in other food that give you diarrhea.

Mughlai food is superior to Punjabi any day. Now go cry in your little corner.

My question is, how is biryani a mughalai cuisine when main ingradients i.e Basmati rice and all different spices (not to forget even all the natural elements like earth, water, air, space) used in 'developing' biryani were indian in the first place?

You think we indians who have a gazillion recepies to cook from different parts of india couldnt have known how to make biryani using local ingradients and it took only mughals to figure it all out what to do with our own basmati rice and spices?😆

And i wont even ask how dare you call kadhai paneer and rotis as mughalai in the first place coz it's just LOL..

Also IF tandoor is persian why attribute it to mughals? Are they one n same?lol

If anyone wants to lecture on culture approptiation, biryani is a very good subject.

Hai koi?

Biryani being of Mughal origin (in north india) is often repeated in a few documentaries and food shows I have watched . So I distinctly remember this point. A simple google search would also attest to it.

I never said Kadhai paneer was invented by Mughals. The spiced up meat cooked in tandoor is attributed to them and the vegetarian tweaks to it involving Paneer ofcourse happened in North India.

Tandoor (the smaller, portable one) is often said to be brought to India by Mughals. That is what I have usually read.

I don't see what is all over the place here 😊 Plus its a discussion, not an argument. You too can share your info and maybe I will learn something I do not know, or correct my incorrect knowledge. I just don't understand why people are getting offended at the mention of Mughals here - attributing a couple of dishes to them doesn't dilute our culture in anyway for me.
