I can agree this is something us forum people surely have to decode soon. I say he comes in harms way on the way to her. Maybe it’s a sign of the struggle ahead?

But most of all I feel Imlie will be worrying of him. This is a sign of where she holds his safety before her desires and maybe also one of the reasons she may let him go. I feel the struggle and longing will not end so soon.
