Yeah right. There are many words i had seen that are similar between bengali and marathi. Hum log bhi dad ko baba bolte hai. 'Tumi' word also very common between bong/bengali and marathi.

Firstly i understand bhojpuri, punjabi and rajasthani very clear just like you, then marathi, then gujrati and atlast i guess thodi nepali etc. Vo log bas baat baat pe 'Ch' laga dete hai. Waise Assamese aur bengali mein kuch zyaada difference nahi hai on paper but bolne mein bohot difference hai.

Mujhe ek bhi south ki language samaj nahi aati its very complicated to understand their language.
