Aren't you getting a little too excited and jumping to wild conclusions about people without interpreting their posts correctly? Talk about arguing against fictional claims.
People here aren't just pulling things out of their butts and encouraging women to take the easier route in life... or worse, regress back to the 1800's. I wasn't even arguing for or against anything when I talked about the stress of work life balance on women.... it's the truth and I put it out there.
It's great that you think you're very progressive and the best advocate of women in the room but people are allowed to share their experiences and observations without someone coming down on them like a ton of bricks, dictating ideas they never meant to say and then passing all sorts of judgments on them to asset moral superiority of some kind. Your feminism is not the only feminism and you're not the only well-wisher of women out there.
I also never said that women should hold themselves back cuz of their gender or shouldn't set high goals and aspire to be like Harris or whoever else you named up there. Is overreaching people's intentions your forte or something?! When did I ever make that claim?!! If you found my references to matriarchal society and "women should marry other women" so offensive, you're not setting a good impression by jumping on that high horse at the slightest trigger and passing wild judgments on others either.
Acknowledging a problem (in this case, the stress caused by unrealistic expectations of a perfect family and career) is not the same as discouraging women from pursuing their goals or regressing back to the Victoria era. How are you even equating that to "denigrating" working women? Because someone brought the stress of double duty to attention?
Most of the people don't live the life of one-percenters A lot of people (mostly women) DO reduce their hours and workload to prioritize their family and some men too as a matter of fact. It's just the way it is... and explains why some women choose to focus on their family. I didn't even an opinion about housewives earlier but now that I'm sucked in this deep into it, might as well impart some.
