Krishna (in disguise) was tempting Pandavas to come to Draupadi's Swayamvara. I got irritated with the background music and quit.

arre I over looked that as well. I was so happy to see Radha in Barsana and Krishna in Dwarka., when I saw Radha Krishna meeting again, and Krishna continuing his EMA, I lost it

I don't even care about the EMA. I mean, I don't believe Radha existed, but if she did, all stories are Krishna was hung up on her his entire life.

But THIS dude has no life except Radha. πŸ˜† There is no larger theme in place about dharma to justify their parting. So why didn't he move heaven and earth to marry her in the first place when they could so easily do dance bomb defusal and parting of the Arabian Sea and shapeshifting.

Then, he goes and marries all these women and proceeds to ignore them. Even that would've been okay if presented in a nuanced way. That there was some emotional turmoil, some angst. That there was some guilt. No, the demons and the curses make no sense... again, the couple can coveniently use magic to get out of trouble, so why not try another time-freeze to nullify the curse? It would've made sense if there were a larger purpose keeping them apart. The larger purpose as in the same karma business in Mahabharata! Imagine how juicy it would've been! Duty vs. desire. Love vs. weight of the world.

Not to mention the mess made out of Mahabharata. Poor Panchali. She was reduced to an idiot hankering after Arjuna which she never was. Her speeches on dharma/karma were handed blithely to Radha or Krishna or both. For the umpteenth time, Krishna didn't save Panchali in dice hall. She saved herself! Thanks to all these TV shows and comic books, most of India now thinks a mustard sari appeared from Krishna's hand to cover her up when Vyasa clearly says her own dharma saved her. The less said about the absurd whitewashing of the Pandavas, the better.

Then comes Samba. Frankly, the boy has a point. He is told time and again his mom doesn't measure up. He is bluntly told there is no room for him on his father's lap because Aniruddh takes precedence. Arrey, Aniruddh has his daddy. RK Krishna, YOU are supposed to be Samba's daddy. Then the fact RK Krishna was willing to let a whole city drown to have his silly brat of an illicit lover back. At this point, I really hope Samba succeeds because this Krishna is a piss-poor husband and father and a despicable human.

Finally, Lakshmana and Yamuna. Most everyone here knows my thoughts on them. 2 women who were sexually assaulted. If Swastik only presented what was written by Vyasa in Harivamsa - and not in some obscure text - Krishna's stature would not have been cut to these levels of ridiculousness. Krishna refused to save the rapist, Samba. Krishna married Yamna after she was raped by Balram. OK, forget saying Balram was the rapist. Just like they're bringing in umpteen demons for kicks, they could've brought in a demon in Balram's form or some such. Instead, these women who were victimized in life got victimized yet again in popular culture.

I don't care as much about real Krishna or real Radha. Their reputations will survive this foolishness. I do care about women who survived sexual assault being painted as villains. Swastik is perpetuating the idea of victim-blaming from both ends. Panchali gets the tag of having rejected Karna (which she didn't though she had full rights to) or insulting Suyodhana (which MALE Krishna did). Vyasa's Krishna was clearly laughing along with Bheema and Arjuna and the twins at Suyodhana's plight. RK Krishna time-freezes Panchali because he is so horrified by her insult! The sexual assault on her is now widely presumed to be something she brought on herself. Why not blame all acid-attack victims for their own assault, too? After all, they had the temerity to reject the attacker once and thus brought it on themselves! Then the previous two women mentioned - the assaults on who get ignored to paint them in the worst possible light.

I hardly ever wish ill on creative types for creating because there is no right more paramount to human existence than freedom of speech. While I will still fight for their right to make what they want, I also fervently pray they (and others) lose the financial means to perpetrate such atrocities.

I don't expect much from these CVs not just that they aren't following the texts, they aren't even able to write layered characters for their fiction.

Radha Krishna is completely white (that's actually good they couldn't have made them grey owing to divinity) but Krishna is completely into EMA doing Rasleela with his gf at an age he has a grand son of himself. Yet this stuff doesn't tarsnish his image at all

Ayan and family were completely black. Heck they were mostly trying to keep the boyfriend of their daughter in law away from her, that's the basic expectations anyone could have had from a DIL. But since DIL isn't doing anything wrong in dancing with her bff and always chanting his name hence it's the MIL n husband who are evil

Balram is a foolish elder brother Krishna has to carry just for the sake of it. Absolutely nothing else about him

Samb is completely bad someone who doesn't even care for his mom, Jamvanti lesser said the better

Yamuna I am yet to see (rather not to see) so no comment

Lakshmana is out and out evil. Even with this distortion they could have made such a great plot of Lakshmana's angle by giving her grey shades. They could have simply shown Samb having had abducted her (I know they won't show more) and she had to marry him unwillingly. After the war, she is PTSD having lost everything so starts taking Yadavs the cause of her misery and hence wants to avenge her plight. That would have been much better a portrayal and story line, but then they didn't even give Radha Krishna any layered character what to expect from a second vamp

I am ok with distortions it's you will show whatever you want but at least spend some time in script writing instead of gaining ideas from Twitter fans

Anyhow I am just waiting for Shivaratri. Have some hope to see Shiv Krishna moments, Sumedh has great chemistry with the guy who plays Shiva

And I am in awe of the mythology about Narayana n Shiva both worshipping each other. Hopefully they have something good planned for this Shivaratri

Will return to the show if they have this

Happy from which angle ?

I am happy coz I don't think we need any more MB stories than we already have. Mythos are getting already way too much attention. There are many other good literature worthy of getting a big budget movie.

Are you happy for the same reason or something else ?

This Mahabharatha was to be highly distorted. They would have had made anything to please the audience. I therefore didn't want it to come in big screen and reach international markets

For the same reasons I don't want Deepika padukone Mahabharatha either

By the way people why do you think Arjun didn't use Divyastras in the war?

For some reason I don't buy the reason that they wanted to give Kauravas a fair chance. I mean had they used Divyastras and ended the war earlier, many innocent soldiers would have been saved. This makes absolutely no sense to prolong the war just because you want to give opponents a fair chance
