The best symbolism in SAAK

It was a brief point but I was so impressed by it.There was a scene today where Devi said to the students Shaurya can't dance when the students approached him for it. Devi was so sure of herself.

Then we see Anokhi looking on and overhearing Devi. She gets a flashback of Shaurya dancing SO well.

His supposed family doesn't know the true, authentic because they never tried to. Anokhi on the other hand knows.

This serves as a symbolism that only Anokhi will truly know Shaurya. Nobody else. Not even his own family. Quite impressed with the writing here.

Shaurya will be comfortable to be himself with her without any judgements.This is what will cause her to him best.

Notice how he's so rude and angry with her. All his family members ask him to restrain himself. But with anokhi, knowingly.or unknowingly he lets out all his feelings.

Even his family says, he can't control himself in front of anokhi. He just blurts out what he wants.

I noticed that as well.

@bold Completely agree with what you said. Anokhi is fearless and even though Shaurya dislikes her, he listens to her and gets affected by whatever she says because she doesn’t hesitate to put forward things and viewpoints. Had it been some other student, they would have been expelled by now. So, somehow Anokhi brings out the actual Shaurya out and Shaurya too knows that Anokhi would never judge him.

Either he feels pressurized by her interference or its his jealousy making him burst out without reflecting 🤔

I think it's both. Do you remember one of this monolgues where he says how Aastha treats Anokhi will all the love which she should've given him as a mother. That hinted jealousy.

He's jealous hence he gets irritated by her. He gets more irritated because she pops up everywhere, in every scenario. This is why he loses control.

I dont think its anything about her fearlessness. If he is not expelling her, it would mean she is special to him which at this point he does not admit.

It has mostly to with what she says to him. You see... He is in denial about Astha. He keeps saying that she doesn't matter and he wants to show the world that she doesn't. But deep down he loves her and he knows it.

While everyone keeps saying that Astha isn't worthy to be called a mother, Anokhi keeps saying that Astha is his mother. Something he wants to hear and believe but won't admit. If you notice, his most intense reactions come out when Anokhi speaks of Astha or else they are capable of normal conversations.

This thing has started connecting them. The more they interact the more they feel for each other. It maybe masked by anger/annoyance and interference but he wants her there and he cares for her more than he should.

If they show more such scenes, I would be so pleased as an audience. Layered scenes are the best omg

Shaurya has bottled too much for too long!

He hasn't been provided with the space where he could open up. His family may love him a lot, they definitely do. But, none of them actually bothered to hear him out. In contrast, he spends his time hearing them rant about how his mom left him and how his father has turned out because of his mother.

I think Anokhi provides him with that emotionally safe space - where he feels like somebody is actually listening to him. Okay i agree that Anokhi does go out of her line as well, however, there is that understanding and acknowledgement from her part that he is in pain as well. I liked how they discussed the whole topic today. However, it generally goes bad because Shaurya sees her as his adversary, not ally. Her genuine concern then looks likes she is prying because at this point there is not that trust between them.
