Okay ,so this was a random idea,I just thought to pen it down.Oops, type it down.
Here goes nothing.

She could hear all the voices coming from various parts of the house. She could hear the music,the giggling,the banters ,the laugh,the conversations. She closed her eyes and saw every sound taking a visionary form in front of her eyes and resulted in a small smile on her face. But when she opened her eyes ,reality came crashing back to her,like a flood ,like a heavy downpour ,and she was again enveloped by the darkness ,or say loneliness of her very own room. But what was bothering her from past many days was not "Why am I lonely?" ,but "how did I end up lonely?". Cuz whatever she did till date was for this very reason,that she doesn't end up alone. Then how did it happen.
There every member of the family is busy preparing for the surprise birthday party of the youngest member ,who happens to be her very own granddaughter. Irony,her grand-daughter happens to be born on the same day as her. But the experience for both were like antonyms. One will be experiencing celebration,and other was sinking in the black waters of loneliness. Her life began to play infront of her eyes. When did it all come to this.
She still remembers the day when she first entered the CN,as the eldest daughter-in-law.That was the day ,when "Chandralekha" became "Bhavani".Initially ,it was all normal ,household ,family,in-laws. But after a few days ,she slowly began to realise, this was not the peaceful ocean that she had imagined ,but it was a river,where you had to swim ,or else the strong currents would drown you to death. Her mother -in-law was not very fond of her,and her husband would just be a silent spectator of the insult which she had to go through . When she used to confront him,he would chide her,"It is for your own good,you are the eldest DIL ,she just wants you to learn".But she didn't want to learn ,she wanted to live.She could not even cry,as it was considered not a sign of weakness,but was of disrespect here.And as time passed ,her cries were replaced with silence. And what became a fuel to this fire was the birth of her daughter. The dissappointement of not having a male heir,as expected took the form of words. Not even moments were given to her and her daughter. But one good thing was , her husband adored his princess. And it gave peace to her heart. And soon her mother-in-law passed away,but it became a greater burden. As every other person would throw comparisons and comments at her. Is every human being same?. Even before she could find answer to this,she had developed a wall,just as one should in the CN ,as there was not only her and her family,but her Brother and Sister -in-laws as well. The river kept flowing.
Then came the day ,when she thought she would be no longer be alone. Ninad had gotten married to Ashwini,the fiancee of the soldier who saved Ninad. She was the one who initiated the alliance on the request of Ashwini's parents,as within a few years of her life in CN ,she knew how it felt to be tagged "bad omen","unfortunate" and what not.But when Ashwini entered the house ,she thought she will see friendship ,trust in Ashwini's eyes for her ,the feelings which she was craving for,but alas she saw none. Just dissappointement and burden in her eyes. But Ashwini's entry unknowingly had pushed her to take the first step to become "Bhavani Chavan". And that step was taken when she refused to let Ashwini continue her studies . And that day ,she saw "hurt" in Ashwini's eyes,and "hate" in an 18 year old's eyes for her. It had shocked her,but what did she do wrong ?Isn't that what her MIL would have done?Isn't that what she is supposed to do? Was she wrong?.
It did not end there,instead it grew. When she observed that the tension b/w Ninad and Ashwini was not fading,she began to enter b/w them ,she did that so that she could make peace between them as Ninad listened to her,respected her.She thought of making Ashwini more comfortable here,so that she could replace that hate in her sister-in-law eyes with trust for her,but she had unknowingly planted mistrust and doubt. And it was confirmed when Ashwini openly accused her of having relation with Ninad infront of everyone ,infront of her husband. But what shocked her more was her husband's silence.Why?Doesn't he trust me?.Why was he silent when her self- respect ,her dignity was at stake?.But she had to swim,so she kept swimming.
Soon Sonali came,she had given up on trying to gain trust,what her own husband couldn't give her,Why should she expect it from others?And she already realised that Sonali and trust do not go hand in hand. And Sonali was from a prestigious family,she experienced wealth. But because of this ,she was also seeing Ashwini's self-worth being diminished . No woman should feel so ,right? But why was she silent?why couldn't she feel anything strong?Is her compassion dying?. But she didn't try to search answers this time ,as she had left it long ago. And as time passed ,a widowed Mansi came back with young Samrat,even amidst their chaos,little Virat was born. As she thought,that OK,now she can swim ,she knows the current . But little did she know a flood was to come.
Her husband died. He had left her and their daughter . Why?Why her? As her husband's body was leaving,her hope was also leaving. Now she was alone. She had a daughter, she was the DIL of this house ,not daughter. She can only claim that this is her house,but did she had the right now.Well concerning the family members,there was respect ,but that was as their elder brother's wife,Right?But ,now what?Has she really gained nothing ?not even trust?. She had to survive ,but how?How amongst these people ? She looked towards her daughter,what will happen now?And that day ,everything changed. The remaining "Chandralekha" and "Bhavani" both were burnt down with her husbands pyre, who was left was now only "Bhavani Chavan".The arrogant,strict and no-nonsense eldest DIL of Chavan family. Then she became an inferno,people thought she intruded,she did it. They thought her fearful,she embarked it in others heart.They called her selfish,fine.She became a wall,cuz she had to survive.But ,is it really selfishness if we think of survival?
And time went on and on,but unknowingly maybe she had even lost touch with her conscience along the way.Cuz she hadn't felt anything when she ripped her grandchild of her mother,when she herself destroyed her daughter's life. When she threatened an innocent Pulkit using her own blood?But why?Because they shared love,but wasn't it what she has craved her whole life in this house? But alas what she took as a step for survival,she began to love it ,she forgot to move forward.
Then came the next generation. First came the "daado sutto",the perfect DIL for her MIL. And then was "Patralekha",her choice. And then the inferno,"Sai".
Yes,Patralekha was her choice ,and she supported her. Why wouldn't she?She was her choice and she doesn't make mistakes ,right? Or had she?
And what of Sai?Did she really hate her?No ,she now realised that it was not hate of being the non-chosen one,but the fear that she will lose what she has gained with such difficulty?But little had she known that she had gained nothing ,but lost everything.
When respect in the younger generations eyes was replaced with malice when Devi's story was exposed ,she lost. When Sai brought respect in Ninad's eyes for Ashwini,she had lost. When she successfully gained everyone's love and trust,even Sonali's which she once thought was impossible ,she lost.When her own daughter refused to accept her as her mother ,she had lost.When her grand-daughter feared her,she lost. But she still had Patralekha right?But when Samrat returned and he exposed everything .It shocked me. And when I went on to wrong her,the person she thought as her own,Patralekha,accused her that she had supported her in her want to initiate an EMA with Virat.And when she looked around for support,all had the look which proved Patralekha right. But it was never what she wanted?It was never her intention. Yes ,she did not like Sai ,but she never wanted this to happen with her.Did everyone hate her so much or is that what her actions spoke?She had again lost that day.
After this Patralekha got a divorce. And Samrat had moved on and had married a girl ,"Samiksha",an orphan,who had took care of him when he had went missing. And she was really happy for them. One thing was definitely true,she loved all the kids,maybe even Sai ,Karishma and Samiksha.But who will trust her?When she never gained it in the first place. How did she forget the reason,that why had she chose to become "Bhavani Chavan"?How did she forget her little girl's face which had pushed her to become this? But now she understood, she was not part of the river,she herself was the river,but she chose the wrong direction to flow. But who to blame now.Sai? Ashwini?Her husband?Pulkit?.No,none,cuz "what you sow,you reep",right. But ,now ,the fact was, she was all alone.Can't she get a chance?But isn't it too late now.
And as she was thinking all this, a lone tear escaped her eyes. But without her realisation,she saw light infront of her,but what was this?A candle. And in this confusion ,she heard a
"Happy birthday,kaku"
Who was this?Sai. Yes ,it was her.Holding a cake ,which read"Happy birthday kaku".While she was staringat the cake,she heard "Happy birthday aaji".There she saw her little grand-daughter,her Harini. She smiled at her and got one back too.
"Chaliye kaku",Sai said.
"Par kaha".
"Neeche party ke liye".
"Par woh toh Harini ki birthday party haina,family ke saath"
"Nahi kaku,party, Harini air uske naani dono ke liye hai,aur aap bhi family hi hai".
She looked at Sai at that statement,and smiled at her.And then Virat,Samrat,Samiksha,Mohith ,Karishma,Devyani,Pulkit came in.And wished her with a smile.
"Chaliye kaku",Virat said.
She nodded with a smile. Maybe it wasn't still that late.The non-directional river can finally get a direction to flow.
