I found it funny when Rajmata said today that Veer has always been closer to Kumud... I've never felt that though. All he talks about is Ranisa.

He did ask what she is looking for today and try to help her.

on the engagement day Kumud came close to him and congratulated him.

There was also a scene where Veer discussed Rani Sa with Kumud. he also asked for advice. He was very emotional in that scene.

In the zee5 news article that introduced the characters it was mentioned that when veers mother was pregnant ranisa kept her around as her secretary just to torture Digvijaya and make him feel guilty.

so I don't think it is impossible. Unless she has gone through a plastic surgery Rani Sa knows who she is. Sometimes I think RaniSa rejecting Veer over and over is just her Revenge plan on her husband and his ex girlfriend.

While the typical route has more chances of being successful I don't think ranasa has the patience to carry through with it for such a long periods of time.😀
