I had a post drafted about Sairat's relationship but I think I will post this for now and that I will finish and share later.

It is ironic as how people can look at Sai as a bully, she is loud, fierce, rude (selectively) but the reality is she is bullied, a character that is always misunderstood, underestimated.

Her actions are that of a survivor, pure survival instinct. Be it guarding her feelings or herself. Not many can relate or understand her. She can also get depressed/dejected making her commit the biggest mistake and foolishness of her life, to commit suicide. Any child/adult at any age losing a parent can get depressed and with no one else in her life and not willing to live in the world where her Aaba would no more be there, pushed her towards this stupidity. Not all needs to be the same and there can be no justifications for this act of hers and hence one big flaw in her.

The makers anyway decided to use that as an instrumental factor for Virat deciding to marry Sai.

He would have anyway kept in touch with her, would have visited GC to check on her, he did tell his subordinates when they asked them before he started that he will definitely come back again.

Sai's actions are that of a survivor, pure survival instinct.

I would not say that all kids growing up under a single parent develop this kind of an attitude, it depends on what kind of situations they are subjected to. She only had her Dad and her Usha Maushi, the way she is shaped must have been due to many things she had experienced as a child. Her Aaba was her world. From what we were shown during GC days, Sai was never shown to be rude or disrespectful to anyone other than Virat (though was not right, she had her own reasons). She has grown angry on her Dad a couple of times which any child would do.

Only if someone was in her shoes, will they understand why the delay in VRS was such a big problem for her. If it is seen that she doesn't see right or wrong, Virat was also wrong to have asked Kamal J to stay in GC for some more time without checking with him if he has any prior commitments. Would he have been okay if Kamal had unknowingly gone out of GC and asked Virat to take care of Sai on the same date as Samrat's wedding date?

Virat had no wrong intentions when he asked Kamal J to stay back but he had unknowingly made Kamal J to stay back due to his kind request. Sai, mufat or not wouldn't matter, anyone else in her position would only get disappointed and get angry that her dreams of moving out of GC with her Aaba was spoilt. Her problem was not jus that she had to do MBBS but she was also worried about her Aaba's welfare and risk associated because of Jagtap.

Somehow the makers have decided to make her very loud and Virat the extreme opposite. It is to show something or whatever it was the reason, Sai's nature isn't coming out or projected to many in the way it should or it could have been.

Is Virat doing her a favour?

Virat himself doesn't think he has done her any favours. Virat is a kind hearted person who would have supported Sai even if he had not married her as he himself said that on the reception night. Virat wanted to fulfill Sai's Aaba's wish. He knows that she is a deserving student and also that she would have been educated if her Aaba had not passed away.

He took this responsibility and also it was not Sai's aaba who told him anything like I took a bullet for you, it was Virat's conscience and in his dream, he realised how he took the bullet which was meant for him.

Kamal J aked Virat to take care of Sai because he was worried about Sai and his problem was Jagtap. Kamal's last wish from Virat was not to make Sai a doctor but to take care of her, to protect her from Jagtap.

If Sai has to be thankful to Virat, which she should and is and will, Virat obviously has to be thankful to her Aaba. There is no compulsion or obligation on him, but that was the right thing to do (to support her in any way possible in her Dad's absence) and Virat knew that.

Sai also asked him in GC as why he can't use his power and get away from the marriage. He then made it clear that if it all is based on his decision then the decision of marriage is his and he is not doing it under anyone's pressure. He repeated the same during Griharavesh too to his Dad when he asked why he didn't take his help if people were forcing him.

No doubt Virat is good at heart and is a nice person, but Sai is no less. Virat has always been able to show his care and concern for Sai openly.

Protecting her started as a duty for him officially and unofficially (because she was his Guru's daughter).

He then started to get protective about her on his own, felt a connection with her, was impressed with her love for her Aaba, her educational accomplishments and also her compassion towards others (saving Pari without caring about herself). He could see a selfless person and that is why he even liked her in first place. If only there was no VRS factor, Sai would have respected Virat too like others from her Dad's department.

Sai didn't marry Virat because she had no other option or needed a support system for herself.

Sai didn't want to offend Usha Mausi because it would look like she is not respecting her decision because she is not her real mom. She felt emotionally compelled to all those people who loved her and so did what she was asked to. She did say many times that she wouldn't have been forced to get married if her Aaba was alive. She would have said no if her Aaba had proposed it because she can take that liberty and he wouldn't get offended.

She is also not staying at Chavan Nivas because she needs money or for her selfish reasons to become a doctor. She knows walking out means disrespecting Virat's good deeds or undoing his sacrifice of getting married to her. She is just going with the flow and is letting Virat lead her path. When the path becomes too bumpy, watching CN is a headache for us, how is the victim supposed to feel, that is when she says I will move to the hostel.

He tried to convince her to stay and she respected his suggestion and stayed back.

The next time when she didn't utter/about to utter we don't know but her warna was completed by a jealous possessed Virat that she can leave if she wants to along with giving her an insight of what living with a family means and that money alone is not going to help her live. She took his advice seriously and did recall what he spoke in the terrace, badon ka aashirwad hona zaroori hai.

To anyone it would sound ridiculous especially the way she is being treated, why would she take that advice. But did she not pray for everyone on the day of Puja. She does understand the elders part and one of them is Virat's Aai.

Sai is a person who acknowledges, registers Virat's actions and words and respects him a lot and shows her gratitude and concern in a concealed way as much as possible.

Khud ki achai batake tareef karaye toh kya kare, something like this is what she said after she returned from DIG office. She didn't even want to take credit for Pakhi returning home.

Sai has expectations from Virat?

If her motive behind living in CN was to use Virat and become a doctor, it is entirely wrong. When Virat asked Sai (the night he accused her that she would be happy that Pakhi left) if she is worried about her results, she told him, result ka kya hai, miley toh teek hai, nahi mila to koi aur options dekh lengey. She was ready to accept whatever fate had in store for her and did not move with Virat thinking he will help her in achieving her dreams. Even on the day of results, she was surprised that Virat was actually planning to get her enrolled in a medical college. She even asked him ki aap sach mein chahthey hain ki main doctor banoon.

She did get disappointed thinking he left to office when he said he is going to take a day off. Though she loves Aai, she was getting attached to him and just like Virat likes to ger her attention, she wanted it that day. She thought that he had left because of what Pakhi spoke and got more upset that he wanted to stay but her bitter words made him leave the house. The balloons and cotton candy was a surprise to her too.

Sai also spoke to her Aaba's picture after her admission that she thought she will take up some course in GC and never thought will join MBBS and Virat sir helped her in getting her admission at a medical college.

She has absolutely no motives behind marrying him or to live with him.

Beautiful post . I enjoyed reading your post . I think most of the people are able to connect to Sai’s character compared to other characters so I don’t think she is misunderstood.

Very well written and explained. Both are flawed but kind hearted. Fate has brought them together and they are not together for any selfish motive.

Their journey is bumpy but very nice and unique. She is not some damsel in distress and that itself is a virtue. He is more emotional than her and that gives a different edge to the story. He reacts/acts emotionally and lands in trouble most of the times

i agree with everything.

actually, some people are not being able to connect to sai's character is because they got used to see FL as a mahaan and sab kuch sehne waali abla naari type girls, wh doesn't have much self respect and forgive everyone very easily.

people will love such characters as they got used to seeing FLs like that. badon ke against nay bolna and chup chap sunna even if they are wrong, and even justify bade saying 'badon ne bola hai tho kuch soch samaj kar hi bola hoga'.

as u explained sai's character already i wont say much. she is basically 'kadwa bolti hai but sach bolti hai' and she belives in 'jo merese jaise baath karega main bhi waise hi karoongi, no matter what age or gender that person is' which is i think is the REALITY of 80% ladkiya of her age, i don't know if things change after marriage, i mean to say these are the things we all want to say but most of us cant cuz of society norms. that is why i adore sai's character.

but bahut loge as they are not used to see this type of character as ITV FL they made a negative impression about her and are not ready to think from her pov. ab uska hum kuch nay karsakte.

Thank you for writing it. I was thinking to write a post on the character sai. You did it. The sai character is said that she is outspoken, loud, don’t respect others, do what she wants to do etc. yes this is said by other characters in the drama also by otheractors in The interviews . If in the real world they are saying then they didn’t u derstand the character sai. When their character has so much flaws. Before you comment understand character and say or just don’t say about the other character. You are so correct sai is the character who is bullied by everyone ever. Her husband sorry to say. She is a 28 year old girl what ever she sees right she tells that a d she don’t care if that person is young or old. She behaves how others behave to her . Aswhini told correctly if you want sai to do something make her do with love. If she loves someone she will do anything g for them. She is selfless. Virat is also kind but he thinks so much a d in that thinking g process he does wrong. But you said all about the sai character. That is why audience gets attached to her. Nice analysis 👌

Sai's character is really a well written one tbh. She's way matured for her age. At the age of 18, she's handling a troubled marriage, In-laws who torture her through words, her own study and above all, she has no one with whom she can speak without hesitation. Even if Aai is still there, it's very less days with Aai to be open to her.

In KD, Ig it'll come in Ghkkpm, that she'll tell Mohit that she don't let the family to oppress her. If she doesn't say anything, they'll oppress and eventually she won't have her own weight and may turn like Aai.

She is mufat, not in a bad way and in today's world, being mufat is much more important to protect one's self respect.

We can't expect traits of a Mahaan FL in Sai who's just 18, didn't even cross her teenagership, just became officially adult. She may bully but she has no bad intention. She loves her father and also teases like we do to our father. Since she had no mother, obviously she'll be more close to her father and that's why she feels right to tease her father too. It's not a sign of immaturity or bully.

True, it is kind of unusual for the ML to be emotional and FL to be strong. I think this is the reason they are being misunderstood by audience. Some don’t like Sai and some don’t like Virat. We need to be able to accept them as they are irrespective of their gender. Virat is easily misunderstood because he bends a lot and is very patient with everyone. He explodes once in a while but is actually a very patient guy and man of principles too. Sai also get misunderstood that she is arrogant and doesn’t care about Virat or others. That is not true, she is just as Aai described, Zubaan teekhi laung mirch ki tarah par dil Imarti chasni mein Ghula hula.

True, I was just planning to add how even I am not at all like Sai. Yes we have been taught how to speak to elders, mind our tone and all. But that doesn’t mean she is a bad person, she knows to stand up for what is right. We all do it but not as bold as her, I must say blunt 😂. She is just a fictional character anyway and she also will tone down as she ages but one thing that won’t change in her is to stand for what is right and also not tolerate when something is wrong.

There are enough seven waali bahus 😂

Thank you, true as you said that most people are able to connect to Sai’s character. I am surprised some don’t like her at all 😂. Of course she is flawed, no one can be perfect. We learn only from mistakes and it takes years together and many still don’t correct themselves, she has just started her journey.

I was waiting to watch today’s episode before I could post how wrong she was in a few things while confronting Virat and didn’t want to post based on SBB segment.
