There are hundreds of ladies in india today who are into prostituion, some by will(which happens very rarel-one in a million shot), some for their livelihood, some by pressure etc. But the question here is should it be legalised in india? At the moment it is considered neither legal nor illegal, but i think it should be legal.
The prostitutes have to live in a secluded area and are not allowed to come within 200 yards of public place, they are allowed to practice it indivisually, and not publicly. they are molested and harrased by many police officers and other ministers or anybody at a high post, they have minimal rights and it is considered as "public indecency" if they appear somewhere in public. The places where they practice are constantly being raided by the police so they have to keep running here and there most of the time, and if they want to prevent this they have to provide their services to them aswell.
