I experienced this too.

Watched Sultan at Metro Mumbai. It was monsoon time.

I first noticed something running through the passage near one of the front rows.

It was really fast, so I thought I was just imagining.

After some time something just bumped into the back of my shoe. It was a rat.

We heard it.

I was so scared!! Sat with my legs folded up till the end.

I was an ignorant teen back then..

The theater had everything guthka eating people who would speak loudly after every scene, pan laced seats, chips and biscuit packet covers littered everywhere along with used cigaratte and who can forgot the dried urine smell

Image result for bad smell gif

The best part a family of five with brash and loud children with mother who would get up in the middle of the movie to sit by the adjoining steps and start breast feeding her 2 or 3 year old

I think entire experience was enough to suffice for life😆

i was surprised when you said "just 20 bucks" because its usually $14 for most Indians flicks in the states then i read the remaining post😆

Bodyguard in a remote town in Jharkhand. I was already hell scared and weirded out coz I was supposed to stay in that village/town for another 4yrs(engineering college 😕). Parents thought taking me to a theatre would help normalise the situation for me.Once the seats were all full, folks added benches(like the ones at tea stalls) which was taken up by more village folks. It was just so weird. I had never seen such kind of 'seating arrangements' in theatres even in the 90s.

Next movie I saw in that town was only when a PVR opened there in my 3rd year.

When I was really young, I went to this theatre in Punjab which was a single screen one and you could book like your own box. In the middle of the movie, there were venders walking around selling popcorn, food etc. And some people had literally brought their own chairs from home and would just sit on it on the side without buying a ticket. They would just bribe the guards 🤣

Another time, I went to watch Jannat in 2008 at a very old movie theatre in CP, my bf at the time bought the ticket in black. And when we went inside the chairs were like those barber shop straight back tall chairs. It was the most uncomfortable movie that I watched, sitting upright 😆

I just came to Bangalore that time in 2015, I was very new to the city. While I went to an interview on Mindtree, I could not crack it. While coming back to Kormangala, I visited this theatre called Rajaswari. What happened there was nasty. It is actually a cruising spot for Gay people. Two guys were on my chest and wanted to do it all in an open theatre. I was shocked and ran away

TELL ME ABOUT IT! Each time K3G comes on screen, that memory triggers like a horror film.

And also why BIG B / JAYA?! I just don't get it.

Nothing as weird as your experience just annoying experiences. When I went to watch Airlift there was this crowd of young men who felt the theatre was their living room. They kept discussing the movie, whistling, clapping etc. Any time someone asked them to shush they would say shhh back to them and make fun of them like why are they asking us this and being so annoying. Finally some guy got fed up and asked them to come outside like he was going to fight them. The whole group followed him outside.

From then on I only watch hindi movies in early morning hours. No one goes at that time except old people and white people. I can't deal with crowds with no theatre etiquette.

Watched Rudraksh in a single screen theatre. I was in school... went with 2 other female cousins, did not have any idea that this movie had a 'reputation'. The ticket counter guy was being very strict and protective saying bacho don't go and sit anywhere else. He asked the guy showing seats to make us sit in good seats only. When the movie started we realised that half the theatre was empty and people were being weird. People were making all sort of noises and were covering themselves with shawls etc. My elder cousin closed my eyes and pulled us out of the theatre half way through the movie. God I was stupid then😭. From that day I try not to go to a movie without reading reviews.
