Another thing. When Akash and Anubha were worried what's it going to be like when the class thing comes, it's like how today was in the Mathur house. Rooms appearing like how everyday is at normal households that does not have a battery of uniformed help and the parents fretting that what their son in law is going to make out of this or hoping that Naina times her entry to her house after the couple exits and the wifey awkwardly covering that she did not invite her husband. Anubha did not intentionally hurt her daughter, but ended up doing it anyways.

It's so tough and hope one day the class thingy is bridged at least with Raanav. I feel a lot protective towards Naina how many ever shortcomings she has. Too bad Raanav judges her so much that the sisters have ended up feeling the weight of that judgement .

And Nisha, you were again brilliant in injecting the parking lot moment after the sisters' conversation. You steered it so beautifully . The script is just flowing too good 👏👏❤️

7 kids for Viveka? Smrita will have a heart attack thinking that all their wealth will go Viveka's progeny.

Dadi will be dadi. Is Savi really that clueless about dadi's insults to Anu and her daughters?

Once Raanav gets used to dadi, he might use his negotiation skills on her. That will be a sight to see.

Raanav was worried about Viveka, hence he came to check on her. I guess to see her in her own house, in her element, he was reassured. And even tolerated Dadi 😁 But it's good he is bonding with Akash.

I have no doubt twins and him are going to have a good relationship too.

Savi Bua walked around with a guilty look the rest of the evening, naina did not show up. Everytime the front doorbell rang Viveka looked upfront eagerly

It was usually the kitchen help or presswala or the mali bringing some manure for the potted plants, someone bringing a mechanic’s phone number for Papa

“Kaise ho beta?” Kamal Fa was very kind

“I am good”

“Aur hamare damad ji kaise peysh rahe hain ”

“Damad JEE?” Viveka laughed

Raanav laughed with her

“Aapko baat samajh aa gayi?”

“I am talking with Dadi here” Raanav pointed to Dadi

“Achha achha” kamal Fa was happy about everything usually he laughed as his belly shook

He wore more gold than a Tribhovan Das model

“Inki Hindi mujhe kayi baar samajh nahi aati”

“Main to samajh lee BATAO “ dadi patted Raanav mocking her own SIL

“Amma aapka kya hai aap genius ho” Akash taunted her

“Kya keh raho hai Akash? Jeeniyo?” she checked with her grand son in law

“Smart” he supplied

Anu was beyond pissed with her MIL tonight but kept her cool

Dinner as a grand success except for the cackling and fighting kids

“IT WAS NOT MY IDEA Ma for that group scuba thing they went to with Rishabh (Piyush’s friend) and Mayank (Asthana) aur iske 6 buddies”

“Mamiji YEH aapki beti chehek chehek ke bol rahi thi, I want to do every water sport in Thailand”

“But MAINE nahi kaha tha Rishabh ko ki tum Ankit he lagey lage raho paani mein flippers entangle ho gaya”

“Mamiji iski shaadi aap US UK mein nahi karwa sakte the?” Piyush yelled

Viveka tipped one roti off his plate it fell on the floor

“Veev” Anu warned

“Ask him to shut up” she bend down and picked up the roti

“Ma waise it was not Di’s idea to go without thermal suits and go in such big groups”

Diya sided with her big sister

“Anu koi baat nahi” Akash waved at Anu

Anu was not having it

She didn’t need any more unpleasant events tonight, she was sure Dadi was going to say “Dekho to shaadi ho gayi kaise ladti hai bhaiyon ke saath”

It was buffet style there was no way to seat everyone around the table and be able to serve

Anu wanted to do fresh rotis but Guddi didn’t arrive until almost 9 PM

By then the food was served on the dining table

Akash quizzed Viveka about what she did during the day

“Just work work work, and then home home home home” she said evasively

Raanav watched her expression carefully, her smile did not reach her eyes

“Three kinds of work?” he asked chewing on roti

“Haan JNU, Shahpur Jat and then… umm back to JNU”

“Kaise jaati hai beta?” Savi Bua questioned

“I was doing the Metro and then Mr… Sa.. Dad said I should go with Rathiji”

“hain neeche?”

“Nahi maine bhej diya drop hokar”

“Hes back” raanav nodded

“Chalo theek hai, Jeeji ke bachon ko koi darn ahi, raat k eek ek baje do do baje laut ti hain” Savi looked very afraid

“haha… not always Bua, jab play wagera hoti hai Sapru House ya NSD mein to… TAB” Viveka leaned and kissed her Bua’s shoulder

“waise maine aapko yeh baat kahi nahi, par mere Bhai ki sabhi betiyan hoshiyar, chust aur ekdum smart jaroor hain” she declared to Raanav

“I see that” Raanav smiled

“AB aapke Bhai ho gaye?” Anu teased Savi

“Akash hai to uska bhai” Dadi reminded Anu

“thanks Amma bhool chuki thi main” anu mocked her MIL

Raanav watched the undercurrents but did not say anything

The conversation was loud and boisterous with dishes clattering and lots of laughter

Viveka missed Naina, their favorite hobby was to record burping or loud chewing or sipping and sharing later on the “family line”

Bua and Harshu were always on top

Bua was a sport, never getting offended

“Hamare Harshu Varshu se baat karke na saath saath kar lo aap bhi, dono judwa ki tarah pul lenge, apne Diyu Karu ki tarah” Bua ordered

Viveka tried not to be self conscious

“Saviii kya yaar… aaj kal ke bachon se aisi updesh”

“Bhayya theek to kehi main… karenge na dono saath saath mein. Delivery ki jimmewari MERI” Bua promised

“Paalkar college bhi aap bhejo” Kamal teased his wife burping loudly

“LE LIYE HO beta?” he demanded

Karuna started laughing loudly

“Karuuu shushhh” Anu whispered

“We usually record people burping or chewing or slurping” Viveka told her new husband

“Too late for me” he laughed

“Dekho to kitne MILAN SAR hain?” Savi was gushing

Raanav was in his best behavior actually sitting by Dadi the whole time and eating out of steel plates with 5 steel cups (new set but steel nevertheless)

Dadi hated kaach ke bartan

“Munna keh lein aapko? Apne chhote bete ko bhi hum Munna kahe rahe, Bauji tumhare boley munna munna keh lo aur ek nahi hoga” Dadi declared loudly

“GOD!! Dadi’s s—life” Diya whispered

Akash began to laugh softly as he heard

“And Dadi your point was?” viveka questioned Dadi “To?”

“To bas yahi ki hum isko Munna keh lenge” Dadi patted her grand son in law

“Ma… shanti rakho” “Ma” Bas “Ma ek second ruk jao”

“Amma baat to suno”

Akash intervened and shut his mother off a 100 times thankfully

Dinner was done successfully, Bua had bought an array of dessert, fresh frozen, desi western

Raanav hated sweets so he didn’t eat any

“He is very picky Ma” Viveka said quietly hoping to ease her mother’s worry

“that’s OK beta” she turned around in the kitchen serving sweets into bowls”

Viveka was blushing intensely

“He is a lawyer but he is very quirky” she said trying not to be proud

“You don’t like quirky?” Anu whispered laughing

“Umm.. I love him.. I love the quirkiness I mean” she nodded

“Usko bhi love KAR SAKTI HO waise” Anu teased

“This is just going all sorts of wrong” Viveka left with a tray “Ufff”

“In 10?” Raanav stood up as he saw her

“Ruk ja beta” Akash begged

She didn’t know if he wanted her to stay the night or stay a while

Raanav looked at father and daughter’s face and quizzed Viveka “Well do u want to stay the night?” he asked pleasantly

She did NOT want to

She wanted to go with him

She had missed him in the morning

“AKASH!!” anu appeared with another tray and signaled him to let Viveka go

“Papa ko kal subah Doc ke paas lekar jaana hai Dadu ko he is going to bed as soon as you guys leave, no gupshup” Anu said out loud

“Arey haaan” Akash looked bummed

Viveka went to hang with her sisters and Piyush in their room, then hurried stuffed more books and journals in a tote bag and then another one, then finally Ma brought out a suitcase and she stuffed it too

“Piyush car taq chhod dega samaan” Anu insisted

“No no worries” Raanav smiled politely

“thanks for coming I didn’t expect you at all so it was delightful” Anu joined hands in prayer to thank

“AREY bete jaisa hai hug karo aap” Kamal ordered

Anu hugged him slowly

“thanks” Raanav nodded

“Hamari beti khaana peena bhool jaati hai economics ko sochkar zara time se khila dena bhai” Bua laughed

“Haan haan hamare NETA yoon hotey to desh ka kalyan ho chuka hota”

Dadi snored on the sofa sitting up

“dadi main jaaoon?”

“Jaaooon nahi kal milti hoon” Dadi looked sleepy and sad And she choked up

“Khush to hoon par man mein udaasi to hai BATAO” she asked Raanav for endorsement

Raanav nodded

They walked to the car, Akash Anu the whole family went to see them off

Akash gave him a tight hug

“Aaate rehna aapke Papa? Dad kehte hain aap log Dad to karoonga Sunday ko hamare yahan kathal ki subzi aur banarsi dum aloo banayengi Amma” Akash looked thrilled

“Oh?” Raanav nodded

“Aapke Pa… dad ne kaha aaj kal unko milti nahi UP ki purane zamane ki swad kahin par”

Satyen might have been kind in expressing that, a man worth billions could easily fly down to eat lunch any day

But Akash took it seriously and wanted his homie over

“Kehna Dad ko” Akash nodded happily patting Raanav’s back

“Will do”

“Pakka kehna” Akash snuck his head into the window and demanded

“Akashhhh kya kar rahe ho” Anu whispered pulling on his collar

“Dekho patni hamari daat rahi hai” Akash told Raanav choking as he let her pull his head out

Viveka found herself tearing up at her papa’s simplicity

Papa was her hero!!

They waved until their car disappeared out of sight

Well… Raanav had won them all over…that’s for sure! She thought wistfully, as She looked out the back window as they still stood outside the gate laughing and chatting as Rathiji waited to merge into traffic

“Did you want me to stay over?” she asked looking at him sideways

“I thought you want to” he turned to meet her eyes smiling

“Oh? Umm.. that’s fine” she shrugged

Too afraid for her own heart to admit to him she wanted to be with him she was hoping he would demand she go back with him, not revealing her innermost desire

Soon? She wondered… hoping

She bend down and texted Naina

“Ghar kab jaaogi?” she asked sadly

“Soon!” Naina responded not revealing where she was
