Rewatching: Kaira have ALWAYS been toxic

Rewatching the first pregnancy episodes. This couple has been extremely toxic since back then!

So Kartik doesn't want a child because of Naira's health issues & Naira is eager for one. But they face an unplanned pregnancy & happily accept it. Fair enough.

But once Naira's doctor tells them that it's a 50-50 chance between Naira's death vs. a healthy pregnancy, both of them lose it!

Kartik is obviously adamant that they need to get an abortion. But the dude secretly forges Naira's signature on the consent form. He then thinks that he doesn't want to get anything done without telling her. Not can't, doesn't. Like.. Was he planning to send her in for an abortion without even telling her? Wtf?

Naira is even worse. She says that they were so positive at 10% fertility chances, so 50% is god sent. Like.. She refuses to acknowledge that the other 50% is death in this case, earlier it was only childlessness. (Honestly she has chosen death over a normal convo with her family so many times, it makes sense that she actually died now LOL. She had a death wish all along)

She has known about her pregnancy for 2 days but says she'll literally die if she loses her fetus. He can chose to not be a father if that's what he wants, she won't stop him. Further, when she sees the abortion form filled by Kartik.. She ditches him & alone goes to the hospital to get it done. Without telling him, or having a single conversation with him about it!

All this nautanki, solo decisions, & refusal to communicate after they've had 1 almost divorce, 1 actual divorce, & 1 cancelled mandir wedding-- All of those things caused by lack of communication!

Yet i still love those old scenes like kartiks day dreams

and first leap were my favs i actually enjoyed kartik wanting to kill the baby🤣

BUT

I know right toxic isnt even the word

but this stuff doesnt bother me

its all the in between stuff

like both of them giving marital advice and advice on how to be a good person 🤣

theyr both clowns

also i hate the those tracks that are about teaching the audience things like gender determination and stalking and hospital strikes the way they are portrayed is always highly unbelievable and cringeworthy

That entire track was extremely loosely written.

Let’s start with Naira wanting a baby:

- She decides she wants a baby and demands for it in the middle of a family get together? Who does that? 😂😂

That scene was next level cringe with the family dancing in the background and Naira asking to be impregnated in the middle of it.

- Naira knew Kartik was scared for her health yet she was adamant. It’s always been her way or the highway.

- Kartik was miraculously okay when he found out she was pregnant. I mean a mixed reaction would have been more believable considering how firm he was literally a day before.

- I am still confused about why he forged the signatures. It wasn’t like he could have kidnapped her and gotten the abortion done? 😂

- Naira’s reaction was the worst like always. She knew he wanted to abort because she could have died but she turned it on him not wanting a baby? Like wth.

I am gonna go to Rishikesh or my father’s, take our baby with us, would have been better if you were supportive and wanted to be a part of its life but it’s okay, i an Sherni...such pathetic dialogues just to glorify Naira.

OMG this! It was so disrespectful & insensitive. Your husband is giving up his dreams of fatherhood for your health. And what do you do to thank him? Gaslight him, call him selfish & heartless, walk out on him.

Naira declared that she'll move to another city & bring up the child alone. She finally fulfilled that wish with Kairav.

She has always believed that mothers are supreme & fathers have next to no rights/say. Be it Kairav or Krish's custody.. Or making decisions about Kairav's upbringing. This when she herself treated her mother like she's a monster & was always pampered like a princess by her father.

As elders say.. Poot ke paer paalne mein dikh jaate hain 😂

Eh, honestly I didn't find anything special about that. Most Indian love stories are written that way. Boy & girl fight. Slowly become friends. Boy turns into majnu & girl friendzones him. He creates drama. She finally agrees.

It's like all Indians think that a girl falling in love before the man & pursuing him is $lutty or desperate. So many real life love stories are destroyed because of that haha 😂

But yes, I enjoyed the earlier episodes better too. Because other characters were still important. How Kaira gave each other equal support in handling anger issues & forgiving family. Their problems were still realistic. Their romance was more than dance!

I think pursuing isnt wholly bad. Like i like the whole girl pursues boy who doesnt like her - eventually rejects her and when she leaves -- he realizes his mistake type ones

tho you might be onto something i have not seen alot of stories with a girl who pursues its far and inbetween

Rajan shahi uncle should empower aunties by showing us a type of show where we get a female kartik

I just liked the way naira was completely oblivious to that kind of male attention🤣she frustrated him so much

They had really good chemistry

In a youthful way

what happened was they made them too old quickly🤣like meh

plus all their love scenes became less dialogue more them just having almost kiss scenes in different clothes

which made it so dry and yes as you pointed out in those dances +_+

I miss those days where kartik used to dream about having her as his wife... --they would have dances but their would be more context as to why - and they were fun

now when he does have her they just do one 5-6 min dance scene the same exact air lift etc with different songs

Everything started going downhill from when Naira admitted her feelings for Kartik. Majnu Kartik, his dreams and Naira just thinking of Kartik as her frenemie was the best times. Since these two got married they have become toxic. Kaira's relationship is the worst and maybe the numerous divorces was a sign that they aren't meant to be together.

Season 2 is kinda opposite of season1 where naitik never left akshara's side while here kartik never left a chance to blame her...

Naksh showed how love cam bloom wiyh age ...how relationships attain maturity while kaira showed how promises fail nomatter how many times they are made....though initially their chemistry was amazing but soon it stopped blooming instead turned dull with unneccessary drama...

Season 1 was more realistic. Gave equal prominence n dialogues for even supporting families n had depth in it. Now the side cast is more flak. Its all abt kaira. Also, ya, they made them behave too old quite fast. Specially for naira, they made her from an imperfect girl to too much idealistic, which honestly felt boring n couldn't connect.

The reason kaira was appreciated was, they had equal say in things n one thing is, Kartik wasn't shown as one of those main leads who wud just stand there while his wife is getting all taunts frm in-laws. He wud be d one to equally take stand. But they kinda butchered d essence n very vague writing specially last yr tracks n prev.

And toxic relations, if looked at, every other show has always been lyk dat. Der s no other way they call pull a show for so long.

Kinda disagree on whether naitik was always there for ak. As far as I remember, naitik was so insecure at very first itself regarding rituraj akshara issue. He went on wid that during the marriage n all ak had to do was cry. That whole issue wasn't resolved for so long.

Maybe, theirs looked more subtle later on n kaira's was more hyped n emphasis was more n just bcos Mumbai track was liked, they repeated it n it kinda became vague.

Naitik was a gem of an ITV ML. He wasnt “perfect”, he had his shortcomings but they showed it so nicely. Esp how Akshara and Naitik bonded. It wasnt like 1 meeting and they were glued for life. It took time and incidents - all presented so realistically.

Kartik also started good. But after wedding it went haywire. He had 2 personalities- one where he is crazy in love and singing songs with Naira OR he is blaming her for anything and everything. Like what a pendulum.

And it just kept getting worse with each track. Naira too with her “ I am sherni but i’ll run away at any sign of a problem “
