Yeh kya reason hai, there are lot of shows where side evil character was developed properly. Despite of their nastiness people somewhere found them entertaining could relate to them. In a old ekta's show, people even could relate to evil showpiece side characters. They didn't have too many scenes. Still with limited scene people could relate to them. People will be indifference or laugh because they couldn't connect to her or her misery not because people are insensitive.
