From June 1947 itself there were doubt about the places which would be divided and a lot of people migrated to and fro to be safe from the consequences. Aug-Sept 1947 was tragic for those families who either had no news/half news about the situation and thought maybe they will be allowed to stay or similar to how I see the character of Lalaji, had this theory that they want to die in the same place as they were born, that would be their stairway to heaven 😳
