ABSOLUTELY. You've basically listed all the reasons why I love her as a character and her placement in the story. I LOVED that we didnt have two females fighting over the ML trope here. I didn't think hers was a track I would enjoy but hands down, it was the best. She brought the best out in Veer, Bani AND VaNi. Bani's sass with her was on point - the fierceness, the intelligence 👌. Loved the way Veer would indulge and stand for Bani when it came to Vani, despite his MU then. He wouldnt step in and would let her take lead until he absolutely had to. Instead he would cheer her on from the sidelines and would genuinely and cheekily be proud of her savageness. "Waah meri junglee billi. Wah" . Forget everyone else, Mayuri singlehandedly brought so much developement in the story. She and Ballu alone were sustainable enough (with the addition of Shukla) to have kept the story going till the end as strong antagonists.
Swarda took the charm and the USPs of the show with her.
F*** , I am back to that point.
The first time I watched that mud wrestling scene I kinda cringed...but then on rewatch I found it hilarious how cheeky Veer was there...he was happily enjoying his wife's tamasha, UNTIL the moment she got hurt, then it was over, all bets off 😳. He was always like that, indulged her every mood, every tamasha, every badtameezi and never turned on her like she'd uchaal-oed his family's izzat in public. And protecting her from that dude Mayuri used to fake sleep with Bani, but immediately after being all "why didn't you do anything?" to Bani knowing that she could protect herself.
I also loved how he relished her fights with Mayuri 😆
I enjoyed the little we saw of Mayuri and Ballu too - she seemed scared of him but it never went anywhere. Plus her handling of Shukla was hilarious.
I was saying to the gang here last night that I half believe Swarda was also writing the show back then, because she left and took everything with her - the writing, the charm - and left behind you-know-who to fill her shoes...
