Many actors like salman khan and amir khan have stated many times that its us the actors who make the song hit what royalty these singers are asking for and it was the time when salman khan banned sonu nigam from his film and dubbed hangover ..... does singers contribution to a song is mere just as vocal instrument ?

None.

Lemme take u thru a rollercoaster of an answer.

Would Salman be Salman if it weren't for Raam-Laxman's music and Dev Kohli-Asad Bhopali's lyrics in Maine Pyar Kiya?

Would Aamir be Aamir if it weren't for Anand-Milind's music and Majrooh Sultanpuri's lyrics in QSQT?

Did Salman make "Aaja Shaam Hone Aayi" ?

Did Aamir make "Papa Kehtein Hai" ?

No they didn't. Had those songs not been as good as they were, these 'heroes' wouldn't be stars today. And eating up credit for everyone else's work is what actors do.

Actors have always needed good music to sustain. Try and remember Aamir's last best song. No answer. Try the same for Salman. Nothing again. Remember songs from TOH and Race 3. Nope, not happening.

Those songs would've done well irrespective of Aamir or Salman being in them.

Now coming to singers.

A few of them are legends of course. Like Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Sonu Nigam, SP Balasubramanium, KS Chitra. They are exceptional at their skill. So they do add to their songs.

The others? Had their respective composers not taken them in those songs they wouldn't be names like today. It applies to almost all singers.

So the backbone of every song, the reason for many dud films to become superhits, the main publicity material, the reason for actors and singers to be stars are the music director and lyricist.

If they hadn't chosen the particular singers or if these hit songs not been there in films starring these actors, none of them would've been who they are today.

Time to credit the right people.

very well explained .... in 2013 when singers and music directors and lyricist were asking for royalty salman replied rudely to them and when sonu nigam in a show replied him back he banned sonu voice in his films :D .... they have power so they can play with the art and here where music has gone to ...

Maximum credit for a song goes to the music director.. Good lyrics and singers adds more to the song.. But its only like sone pe suhaga..its the tune/music which catches our attention.. In my view music director deserves 90% of the credit... Actors contribution is negligible

Totally agree with you.

You explained everything nicely.👏

Saying that its just actors make a song popular or classic is wrong and so very wrong.

But it's the singer, the lyricist, the music director who make rhe song popular and good.

Actors become popular because of good songs many times not the other way round.

This is really disrespecting giving no credits to thise who work so much on making amazing songs.

I will listen the songs which are good and beautiful even if it has a new or less popular actor in it but for sure won't like a song just because it has a popular or even my favorite actors in it.

Singers, lyricist, music directors and all those who work so hard on making such amazing songs deserves credit and respect for it. Not the actors who themselves became popular only because of the amazing songs in their movies.

It's a teamwork, so actors can't get all the credit. Lyricists, music directors and singers are the pillar of any song.

Otherwise albums without having any A list actors can become superhit too like Falguni's.

Actors have the general advantage of having maximum fan following.

Eventually its good music that attracts people the most.

Agreed. It's teamwork. If the songs were just about being on an album without any visuals then all credit would go the music director/composer, lyricist and then singer. But combined with a visual medium - film - credit also goes to the actor, film director, song and dance choreographer etc who sell the song beyond the music.
