The theatrical performance of the movie was actually a disappointment. It didn't satisfy the massive expectations of the audience at that time, especially coming from the director of Tridev.

The movie did have a great afterlife due to the songs (mainly) and the casting and entertainment.

IMO, Post death of Divya Bharti, her songs / movies did get cult status. 🤔

Saat Samundar paar sounds fresh even today unfortunately the film was a turkey .

Was really a bad-ass movie. This and Tridev.
