Chapter 3

"Rehaan?!?" Khushi gasped.

Rehaan quickly let go of Naina and Naina looked flustered. She quickly ran out of the vanity while Rehaan raked his fingers to set his messed hair.

"Care to enlighten me?" She asked crossing her arms across her chest.

"We were just having our moment, Khushi and you spoilt it. It took me 7 long months to make her realise her feelings." He said as if he was disappointed with Khushi.

"You love her." She realised and said.

"Happy realisation!"

"Rehaan..." she started but he cut in between.

"My shot must be ready. We will talk later." He said as he moved to climb down the van.

"This conversation is not over yet." She said and he nodded.

Three weeks.

She had been working for many hours without rest since three weeks. The production had decided to end the track in a month so they had been working continuously. The only time she was free was when she ate something or do my makeup and hair. Though she felt tired sometimes, she convinced herself that she can do it.

As soon as the director said Action, she suddenly felt light-headed, everything started moving around her and she collapsed on the floor. She realised the team coming towards her and blowing air to her face. It was blurry but she could realise Arnav picking her up in his arms, she was too weak to even react so she just leaned on his chest unable to keep her back straight. Soon, everything went blank.

"She just needs some rest. No need to worry." Khushi heard someone speaking but she was too tired to opened her eyes.

"Thank you, Doctor." She realised that it the director's voice.

She realised footsteps going away. After a while, she felt a hand in hers and it gave her chills. She could never forget this touch. Yes, it was him. It was ASR. She realised him covering her with the cosy comforter and placing a soft kiss on her searing forehead.

It made her heart skip a beat. She could never thought that a forehead kiss could be so intense, or was it because of the sensation of his lips touching her skin after so long that she felt it so soothing?

"I am there for you." he whispered. "Just get well soon."

Khushi tried to open her eyes when Arnav let go of her. She realised him getting uncomfortable and staring down at the floor particularly nowhere.

He always does that in confusion.

"Wa.. water." She said somehow.

He gave a quick look before pouring water in the glass and offering it to her. She struggled a little to get up, when Khushi realised him placing his hand under her back to support her.

"I can get up on my own." She shrank away from his touch.

"I could see that." He said sarcastically, propping her up against the pillows and handing the glass to her, and waited as she drank.

Arnav's intense gaze almost burnt Khushi's skin and the glass slipped from her hand.

''I... I didn't..." She tried to speak.

"Relax!" He said in a calm voice. "No need to panic." He said and took out a packet from the drawer and started shuffling through the medicines until he found the one he was looking for.

"The doctor prescribed them, but you need to eat something first." He strode out of the room.

For a moment, Khushi felt the old Arnav near her who genuinely loved her, cared for her, once. Her happiness and sadness affected him once.

No, Khushi! He never loved you. It was all just a lie! She scolded herself.

A minute later, Arnav was back with a plate of food.

"I don't need them. Neither do I need your help. Just stop your fake concern." Khushi told him irritated.

Placing the plate aside, she threw off the blanket and pushed herself to her feet, but her head spun and she swayed as her vision blurred. Before she knew it, Arnav's gentle hands had wound protectively around her arms, steadying her.

"Are you okay?" There was no mistaking of concern in his eyes. But Khushi couldn't let his traitorous eyes fool her again.

"Stop it. I don't need you." She replied, trying to shrug his arms off her shoulder but he didn't let go. Instead, he made her sit again on the bed.

"You can't even walk straight and you're telling me you don't need my help?" He asked incredulously. "Eat. Now."

She simply turned her face away, not answering. Suddenly he grabbed her chin and made Khushi look at him,

"Listen, either you're going to eat yourself or I'm going to stuff it down your throat. Your choice." He sounded frustrated.

"Why are you so worried about me?" She asked with annoyance.

"I'm not. Don't flatter yourself. I'm only doing this because we have to wrap the shoot as soon as possible and we can't do that with you laying on bed sick!" He barked back.

When Khushi refused to move, he sighed, sitting down next to her and trying to feed her. She tried to object but Arnav was persistent. Once he was done, instead of offering her the tablets, he simply placed them in her mouth and handed her the glass of water. This time, she didn't protest and drank it. She too want to get well soon and get free from this fake care. She heard him sigh in relief.

"Now sleep, I will take the sofa." He said.

"You can go to your room. My PA will take care of me." Khushi said trying not to sound rude.

"Your PA went back to India. Her mother passed away."

"Oh!" She realised Radhika's mother was ill for some months. Khushi silently prayed for her and decided to give her PA a paid holiday.

"But, you still don't need to..." he cut her.

"No use. No one in the crew is going to stay awake for you."

"Then why you?" She asked, she doesn't know why.

He looked at her for a moment.

"Go to sleep, Khushi." He said and lied on the sofa.

Khushi was confused. Which one is the real side of him? If he loved her, he should have not insulted her. His insecurities spoilt everything. If he had bothered to trust her, then the situation would have been something else today.
