@red- I noted that too. He was very quick to say that lol, and the way he was anxious to get Imlie's stuff back was way too sus for me. I wonder if he planned to keep it to himself😆

Yes all 3 characters will get a strong dose of heartbreak in this journey. I don't deny that Malini deserves better than what she'll be subjected to. I just don't disregard the fact that Imlie and Aditya also deserve better than what they've been subjected to. Destiny has been unjust to all of them.

Hahaha I was totally hoping Adi would manage to get his hands on Imlie's belongings. He certainly wouldn't go through with his suggestion to throw them out. 😆

Wo bhi apne choti behen hi uske sautan ban gayi tho? Friendship wala love kahkar chod dega tho chappal se maarna chahiye Adi ko

@ blue. Because he can't see Imlie as a maid atleast from now on. There is gulit in his mind for making a teenage girl a maid who sacrificed everything for him, who considers him as her husband. So it's obvious that he didn't told 'hum sab'. Upar se Aditya jaante hai ki wo Imlie ke liye employer nahi, pati hai.

@Red Come on, no need to be disrespectful to get your point across.🤔 I definitely wasn't implying a lack of innocence in that touch. My point was he was more comfortable with her and I thought back to those moments in Pagdandiya when he reacted like Imlie's closeness/touch were coming from her underlying "besharmi" intentions. Sitting next to her and touching her cheek shows that he now believes in her innocent nature and that her intentions could never be corrupt. So for me yes that touch signified a little more than human compassion but nothing "pukeworthy" or wherever your mind went with that. Hope that makes more sense. 😊

@Blue Yes I've imagined her scenario and ofcourse it's not a desirable situation for anyone to be in but I also know in life it's not crazy for long-term relationships to end nor for people to move on and find their true soulmates after YEARS of believing 1 person is the be all and end all of everything. So whilst I sympathise with Malini, I also know that marriages break up and people are capable of finding true love and happiness elsewhere again.

I really liked today's episode because of all the layered emotions that cropped up. BS is still.in denial of his feelings, what he did for her after the bullet incident was a knee jerk reaction, there was no one to see him, no Malini or his family members, his feelings came out unmasked. Even he didn't know that he would become so desperate to save her. Even now he is thinking what he did for her was only because he has been given her responsibility. He is yet to acknowledge that he loves her. He is not falling for her..he is already in very much love with her.

As soon as he enters the hospital, he becomes the same old, guarded individual. He becomes conscious of everything, his relation with Malini, how his family views him ,Imlies position in his family, each and everything. He gets a reality check again.

He is committed to Malini for 7 years , and being a rightous man, he can't come down to accept the fact that he has fallen for some other girl who he barely knows for few months. He thinks he loves Malini, he thinks of himself that he is a very loyal and honest lover/husband. So how can he fall for another girl. Another reason for this denial is the forced marriage, that really really hurt his ego badly.

Coming to today's hospital scene : There is a saying that you should follow the actions, not the words. Yes he was repeatedly saying that he can't give her wife's status, rights etc. And when he said he meant it too. But, but, just look at his expressions ,his eyes were filled with pain and helplessness. He was in pain because he can't accept her as his wife, he can't say to the whole world that this girl is my wife and I love her. He was in pain because of that, because he loves her. But yes, he still doesn't know that, his thoughts are clouded and prejudiced by various incidents ,his past commitments etc .He doesn't know his own feelings and I feel he will take a long time to accept that. He will try to be a good husband to Malini because he thinks that's the right thing to do and he loves her, which he doesn't but yet to realise that.

The serial will go on showing Adi in his conflicted mode and layered emotions for a long time. He will gradually realise and accept his feelings but that's a long process, it doesn't come overnight. But that's the fun of watching this show..right? It's a slow burn and I am enjoying it to the core❤️

Interesting points you've made here.....while I'm not sure I'd say he's already in love with Imlie, I do feel that his situation is about a deep emotional attachment to Imlie....almost on a visceral level that he generally keeps suppressed for various reasons - the forced marriage ka trauma, anger, his promise to Malini. But in the moments when it seemed like he'd almost lost Imlie, all that visceral emotion poured out of him unchecked and it was stark in that moment that Imlie has come to mean a lot to him....much more than he is ready to realize.

The reason I feel he isn't in love with her yet is because I feel the baggage of the forced marriage takes up a lot of space in his mind and heart.....he has an instinctual connection with Imlie but it is yet to be fully explored.....I think as that gets explored more over time, that is when he will begin to properly fall in love with her.

Right now, him and Imlie are sort of in this shapeless state that can't really be defined....they have become connected through powers beyond their control and they are only just beginning to grapple with that.....to understand their feelings for each other, they will both have to travel different paths - Adi will have to come to terms with the fact that the fantasy he's built up with Malini isn't really love - atleast not the lasting kind he's imagined....and he's actually found a lasting connection with the most unlikely of people - Imlie. And Imlie will eventually come to terms with the fact that she doesn't worry so much over her Babusahib simply cuz he's her husband....there is more to it than that.

Lovely Analysis AY and the others. Enjoyed reading them all. Visiting and posting in this forum after ages, literally.

I am enjoying the journey of AdiLee and yesterday's episode was good. The way Adi spoke to Imlie, by not yelling or blaming her, an open and honest conversation, the way he understood her pain, all was emoted very well.

He is looking at her as a person now, who is in this forced marriage as much a victim as he is. This is the big shift I sensed, that Imlie is as blameless as he is.

I am ready for the slow burn.

Folks in this thread have made some points.

Nice to see some familiar names in this forum. :)

Just started watching this show on a whim and waiting to see how the story unfolds.

Thanks, Nim :)

Even I started watching on a whim and literally binge-watched the whole thing in a few days😆.

@bold: Yes, that is the big shift indeed.....for the first time since the forced marriage, he finally seems to realize that Imlie is as much a victim as him and she doesn't deserve the blame he's heaped on her for so long. It would be nice if in the coming days, he starts to understand how much the constant scolding from him has also made her self-esteem take a hit in some ways.

I found it really sad that Imlie was calling herself a khota sikka in this convo....she was doing that a lot in the whole scene...apologizing over and over. I hope Adi stops her from doing this constant sorry parade all the time....he's brought her to this state by constantly berating her....but hopefully she will come out of it now as their relationship goes through some shifts again.

Adi made a point to the lady with Alzheimer's - that he will NOT fight with Imlie again and that he has NOT fought for her!! He said this right before Malini spots him and he utters the truth to her in a fit of guilt & remorse. Due to his actions, someone almost died, who also happens to his wife.

He is hopefully going to think before berating her again, choosing his words as he understands the impact they have on Imlie. She is a brave soul, trying to weather the forced marriage and accepting that destiny has tied them together.

In the coming days, we may see Adi trying to take a stand for Imlie, getting her educated. But with Dev finding out that she is daughter today, it will be interesting to watch his actions, how he will support Imlie when Anu is already so suspicious.
