Chapter 1: Good News

“Aap Aniket ke naam se itna chidte kyun hai? Muje toh aaj kal aapki koi baat samaj hi nai aati.” Sai said tears falling from her eyes

Virat softened looking at Sai.

VIRAT

Ye tu kya kar rha hai. Aayi sahi keh rai hai, aaj kal mai bahut gussa ho jata hoon. Speacially Sai pe. Uski aakhon mein phirse aasu aa gaye vo bhi meri vajah se. Mai kya karu mai toh sirf usse khush dekhna chahta hoon. Kamyaab dekhna chahta hoon aur agar kuch bhi uske beech mein aaye muje bilkul aacha nai lagta. Kya ye galat hai? Mai toh Sai ka bhala hi chahta hoon na?

“Kya aapne abhi muje ignore karna bhi shuru kar diya?” Sai asked dejected

“Nai Sai. Aisa nai hai. Mai bas...” Virat softened but still unable to explain 

“Bataiye na Virat sir. Bataiye. Mere aabha aape bahut bharosa karte the. Mai bhi aape bahut bharosa karti hoon. Par agar aap kuch bolenge nai toh  mai kaise samju? Please Virat sir. Yeh roz roz ke drame ab mujse bardasht nai hote.” Sai looked at him 

“Mai sirf itna chahta hoon Sai ki tum apni padhai pe pura dyaan do. Apne Aabha ka sapna pura karo. Aur college ke ladke aksar har ladki ko ek hi nazar se dekhte hai. Mai nai chahta koi tumhare aur tumhare sapno ke beech aaye. Mai tumhara bhala hi chahta hoon.” Virat finally said covering up his insecurities which he was himself unaware of

“Aniket aisa nai hai Virat sir.”

“Shayad na ho. Par tum itni sure kaise ho? Kitne waqt se jaanti ho? Saavdhani rakhna koi galat cheez thodi hai?”

“Mai sochungi iss baare mein.” Sai said with finality 

“Theek hai.” Virat agreed as he knew that if dragged the topic more, he would be in a soup and Sai in Usha Mausi’s room. 

It was around 2AM at night. All the members of Chavan Nivas were fast asleep. Virat and Sai had finally slept around 1AM after the ‘Aniket’ talk.

Virat’s phone rang.

“Hello” Virat picked up the phone in a sleepy voice. 

“Sorry to disturb you this late sir. Par Samrat sir ka pata lag chuka hai aur humne unhe City Hospital mein admit kiya hai.” Said his Hawaldar.

“Kya? Mai abhi aata hoon.” Virat jumped out of his bed happily.

How much he had waited for this day. He had so much to talk to his brother. He felt alone sometimes. He had realised a lot of things and was apologetic for a lot of things. 

He quickly went to the other side and woke up Sai.

“Kya chaiye ab aapko?” Sai asked sleepily 

“Sai! Jeeva mil gaya.” Virat had tears in his eyes

“Kya? Samrat dada?” Sai woke up and confirmed 

He nodded and hugged her tightly. 

“Vo city hospital mein admitted hai abhi. Sai... sab theek hoga na?” He asked waiting for reassurance 

“Sab theek hoga. Mai apke saath chalti hoon.” Sai said trying to get up

“Nahi Sai. Tum yahaan raho. Kuch hoga toh mai tumhe phone karunga. Koi family ke saath bhi toh hona chaiye na.” He cupped her face

“Ok Virat sir. Aap jaiye. Phone karna” she smiled back at him. 

Virat left the room happy. Somehow Sai telling him everything will be alright made him believe nothing can go wrong. With a lot of hopes, Virat made his way to city hospital

Virat reached the hospital room to find his Jeeva unconscious. 

VIRAT

Jeeva... I’m sorry Jeeva. I’m stupid. Muje tuje sab sach bata dena chahiye tha. Hum kitne khush the. Ye sab kya ho gaya. Cheezein itni complicated kaise ho gai. Tu bas theek ho jaa. Hum sab theek kar denge. Jeeva bina Shiva kuch theek nai kar sakta. 

“Samrat sir ko hosh aa gaya hai.” Dr Arjun smiled at Virat

“Thank you Doctor.” Virat rushed inside

Samrat saw him rushing in and did not say a word. He refused to even look at him. 

Virat sat beside him on his bed and kept his his on his lap and started crying. He was inconsolable. 

Tears flowed from Samrat’s eyes. He couldn’t see his Shiva cry but he has been put in such a situation, he has nothing left to say.

“I’m sorry, Jeeva.” Virat managed to say while he continued sobbing 

Samrat looked at him. Tears in his eyes. 

“Kyun, Shiva?”

“I’m sorry”

“Kya ho jayega usse?”

“Muje aapki madad chaiye. Mujse nai hoga.”

“Ab kya madad chahiye?”

“Maine shadi karli hai, Jeeva. Ab toh sab theek ho jana tha na”

“Kya?” 

“Muje kuch samaj nai aa raha. Family aur Sai ke beech mein pista rehta hoon. Teri bhahut yaad aati hai. Muje pata hai agar tu hota toh sab kaafi aasan hota.” Virat sobbed

“Tu pagal hai? Aise situation mein tune shadi karke kisi aur ki zindagi barbaad kardi?” Samrat was furious

“Aisi baat nai hai... mai...” 

Before Virat could complete anything the who family gathered up in the room. The family took a sign of relief now that they knew Samrat was safe and in front of their eyes.

Sai stood outside the room as there were already a lot of people inside. 

“Sai?” A voice called her from behind 

Sai looked behind to only be rooted at the spot and tears flowing from her eyes.
