Social anxiety has been my constant reality for the past almost 10 years and along with it have come bouts of depression and general anxiety. First time I was depressed was the worst because it was new to me and I remember one of my symptoms was sleeping too much. So I would fall asleep easily and stay asleep for 10+ hours and wake up still feeling very tired. After about a year I was much better, but I've shorter bouts since then. About a year ago I was depressed again and it took me longer to realize because I had insomnia (couldn't get to bed until 3-4am) and I thought my depression sleep habit was oversleeping so I guess these symptoms can change. I've been to therapists a few times and it's helped a little bit but it's expensive and so mostly I've pushed through until the end of these low periods. From the outside no one can tell because I'm very upbeat and smiley, but on the inside it's often a different story :/

No never, touchwood. I've always been the healthy and happy type.

But one of my closest friends dealt with depression and conquered it with a great show of strength. She took anti-depressants, worked out, took care of herself physically and mentally, and conquered it with the true spirit of a warrior.

I've always been empathetic to people with any sort of mental health issue unless it's someone toxic like Kangana, for whom I don't have any words.

Bold : someone who mocks mental health and refuses to believe in its existence cannot be a victim of it. If she was, she would never have dared to talk such rubbish about it

Moreover, touchwood I have never suffered from any of it but I really think this is the topic that needs a lot of attention right now. Anyone suffering from it should be given the chance to come out and talk about it so that people can atleast help them.

Mental health is an issue that always gets suppressed due to various reasons that is why till now many treats it like a myth. Hope that changes quickly. Also, my love to all of you who suffered from depression/social anxiety, not an easy battle but definitely the one that can be won. ❤️

Dropped out of college in 2014...slipped into depression soon after that due to which I stopped going out of the house for 2-3years ...things reached such a stage that my vitamin d level went down below 16 and my joints started aching...became a sick old woman at the age of 22-23 itself...then due to family's insistence went out to meet a therapist...has been under his medication since then and it has helped immensely...there are days when I still break down...start sobbing...but I have to say my family has been very supportive and has been by my side since day one...also forum like these and books/movies helps a lot to keep my negative thoughts at bay...:)
