Tbh, I don't remember BB seasons too well after they have been dusted with. I do remember some moments and phases here and there because either they were too epic or too tragic. With Gauhar and Gautam, I'd personally say they weren't fixed winners. But yes, it's totally possible that after seeing and realising the massive wind and current changes these two had caused in their respective seasons and ended up gaining so much public support and popularity, BB might have started supporting them directly or indirectly much later on.
With them, like you guys said, they at least had earner their respective wins. They both were bold, they both were out loud, they both were good in tasks, they both had a screen presence and whatever the two did garnered attention. Backlash bhi tha, praise bhi tha and it always neck to neck. Not like Shukla or Rubina where it's so lopsided and these two are the perfect of khairati winners. One that's won and one might just end up winning. I didn't like Prince either, quite a chindi winner imo but that season is too diluted in my head now and the only good thing about it was Rishabh. 😆

Also, the fact that both Gauhar's and Gautam's rivals were a despicable lot, Armaan-tanisha and Upen-Karishma. To top it, they had both been put through lot by these HM's and others and Sallu too. WKW's used to be brutal. These factors also worked in their favour in the long run to have fetched them public support and affection. I think, Gauhar-Kushal, Rashmi-Asim-Vishal-Arhaan are probably the contestants who have suffered the worst in BB at the hands of BB and Sallu. Inke season mein yeh chindi log hote toh pata nahi kaise jhelte. 😆
