It's my point of view but I don't find him guilty at all right now if he was guilty he would have apologized her hundred times but instead he is just calling her Maa and nothing else
Haven't we seen him guilty for saudamini and Bondita in past he did anything and everything for them to make his mistake undone
But in sampoorna case he barely take stand for her he did argue with kaka but not for sampoorna but for kaka's belief which he consider wrong about widow nothing else
