OS: It has been five years
It has been five years. Five years since the constant arguments and fights and politics in the chavan nivas. It became suffocating to stay with the constant power play and fights an chaos.
After shivani bua's matter was sorted, I hoped that normalcy will pervail. But Chavan Nivas has become nivas of trivial power play. kaku found different reasons to belittle sai and the rest of the clan joined togather. The most shocking part of the clan was Pakhi. I thought of her as a mature person, but she turned out to be most illogical an immature. In her uncalled for jealously and dislike for sai, she forgot the basics in life and being a decent human.
If sai would have complained, I might have ignored it as her immaturity, but i saw the atrocities melted out by pakhi with my own eyes. On one occasion, She did not let sai have her breakfast at home because sai could not contribute while preparing the same. When i called for sai, pakhi made up a story of how sai was rude an did not eat her breakfast.
Sai never complained about how my family was treating her. She always had a bright smile in front of me. She cheered up my Aai and Shivani Bua and also my Devi tai.
Devi Tai, it was a wonderful surprise to know that Sai helped her become the tai she was few years back. My sai helped tai reunite with her husband and child and lead a normal life.
Kaku could not digest the fact that tai could be happy an normal with a guy from a different caste and created issues in their life leading to tai loosing herself.But Sai helped tai to be normal and take a decision for self.
After this, kaku and gang made it their life goal to make sai's life difficult. everyday became a day of fights atleast two times a day, during breakfast and also during dinner.
With sai, our relation slowly improved. After she proved bua's innocence, I appologized to Sai. We also made it a habit to daily sit an talk about our day and not to sleep angry at each other. I would tell her the tales of my training and about kamal Sir. Sai would share her day at the college and all about her friends and the fun they had.
It was relieving to see Sai lead a normal happy life, atleast with him and aai. They were always updated about all the extra class and late nights that are to follow. I and Aai had also met all her friends and formed our own rapport with them. Any late nighter would mean Aai making snacks and sending over to Sai and all her friends.
However kaku and pakhi could not digest that I am not restraining Sai from anything. Sai did avoid anykind of conversation with any of the members, but they always found means to taunt Sai and her upbringing.
The final nail in the coffin was them accusing Sai of having an affair with one of her classmates. I realised that it was time to move on and lead a life away from this toxic environment and let Sai lead a happy life as I promised Kamal Sir.
It has been five years since we shifted to the office accomodation. Aai and Usha maushi came with us. We all settled togather. Life became more peaceful as well as colourful. Sundays were for pampering sessions from Aai. And few weekends also were for family outing at nearby sites.
With time and better communication, my relation with Sai became more open. We could share our thoughts and feelings without arguing. We found means to be happy with difference of opinion. With time and experience, Sai also learned to watch her words and temper.
The fun and rebellious Sai was still a part of her, but that was only resrved for fake drama with me and Aai.
With time, I realized that my liking for Sai has surpassed thr reasoning of her being my zimmadari and her being kamal sir's daughter. I fell in love with Sai for the person she is, for the affection she has for the people she considers as her own, for the spirit she has to help those in need. There were multiple moments of realisation of her value and need in my life.
Need is the word. Sai had the choice to be with some one who was better than me, who treated her better than me, who cared for her better than me, who had a family who loved her better than mine. But Sai choose to stick with me regardless of her time in Chavan Nivas.
It was Sai who insisted that i maintain my relation with kaku and gang. It was on her force that I maintain cordial links with them all.
With time, kaku realised her mistake in mis judging Sai. With time kaku and gang also realised that pakhi is not as ideal as they thought her to be. But I insisted that betterment will be to have cordially relation at distance than to jeopardize it by staying together.
Life became peaceful by looking at Sai leading a happy life. Life became peaceful because my vaada fo kamal sir was fulfilled positively.
Sai completed her MBBS successfully. She is planning to specialise in cardiology.
l got up early as today was convocation of Sai and here she was sleeping peacefully hugging me. I could feel movements of Sai next to me as gets up with the alarm.
Charming smile and good morning pecks start our day. Day passes in a blur with me being busy with cases and Sai with her studies. Evenings are spent with chit chat with Aai, usha maushi, devi tai and family and Shivani bua and her family.
Night are restricted to Sai and me and only our own world within the four walls of our room.
It has been five years since peace began in our lives. Five years for Aai to start her life fresh and start her own cooking classes. Five years to growing up and learning life the practical way with Sai. Five years to tame and train the tigress she is. Five years for me to learn to not make anymore vaada and lead life by finding happiness is small things.
