The ending was heart wrenching cause I felt so bad for Ulfat towards the end. I still didn't feel a bit sorry for Shafaq even with her showing sympathy in the end. To me she was only doing it because she knew Ulfat was dying soon and she didn't want her to die with grudges in heart. The last scene with Shahan and Ulfat... 😭smiley19smiley19smiley19smiley19. So sad, so amazingly executed. I think that's one thing this drama had a few of. Some iconic romantic moments. Be it this or the pakora in baarish moment early in the show, there were quite a few heartwarming moments. The only thing I wanted was to see what happened though with Shahan, Shafaq, and the kid in the end. Maybe 2 minutes only would have been enough.

In my opinion, I actually loved the entire show. It was illogical in many ways, no doubt. But I don't see what's wrong with some unrealisticness. It's a drama. We don't need to see "real life" everyday. Isn't it stressful enough especially nowadays. In other countries too there are dramas that have such far fetched unrealistic stories that wouldn't happen. Some American shows are like that and even some K-dramas I have seen stories that are unreal. But it's ok. It was a good show and let's face it, 5-6M+ people were watching it each week. 4-4.5M on HUM TV, 1-1.3M on HUM Dramas (they deleted them for some reason, and 300-400K on HUM TV Dramas. To each his own opinion though, this is just mine. I really liked it and the only thing would be there should've been some more light heartedness like there was in beginning. End mein toh poora masala drama kar diya.

Will miss it lots. Wednesday ke saare favorite shows chale gaye. Deewangi, Jalan, and Mohabbat Tujhe Alvida were the 3 Musketeers for me 😆

its funny how the sympathy is with Ulfat through it all - ofcourse her death is shocking, I was definitely not expecting that at all. But keeping it all aside, for a moment if instead of Ulfat, Shahaan would have traded her off for money - would that be ok or forgiveable? That is not a mistake - its a deceitful crime. Basic difference between Judaai and MTA was that husband always knew that he was traded for money in Judaai..it was all out in open always. Not that it made it any less horrible, but atleast all three knew what they were doing. I am sure Shahaan would have never gone ahead with marrying Shafaq if he knew all along, unlike Anil's character.

In any case, I actually dont get the hate Shafaq has been getting..she was the one who sacrificed a very comfortable life because she fell in love ...and was really nice to her step son, her MIL, even Ulfat in the start, but it was Ulfat who was horrible to her straight away once the wedding got done with. Throwing the gift she gave her and not setting up her room in the new house, burning that frame..and a lot of other things Ulfat did - she never made Shafaq feel welcome, while she was happily spending all the money she got from Shafaq for her own selfish reasons. She created scene after scene and was so unlikeable for the most part..she is even lowkey responsible for her MIL's passing. I mean both her and Shahaan kept fighting in front of her, knowing fully well about her heart problems

IDK I never liked Ulfat at all..she illtreated everyone and was responsible for everything going down the drain because of her own greed..its probably Zahid and Sonia's chemistry and Sonia's acting in emotional scenes that people connected to her..but mostly everyone was OTT in the show..and if I had to pick a show for Zahid and Sonia's acting prowess - it would hands down be Ishq Zahenaseeb - they freaking were gorgeous in that show - intense and what off the charts chemistry! This show was a disappointment on all counts.

I agree about your views on Ulfat. 😊

Did you watch the whole drama? Because shafaq revealed to Ulfat herself that she just used her greediness to get what she wanted. She never planned on sharing Shahan with her, she wanted Shahan all to herself and she knew that once Ulfat becomes rich she would drift away from their lives.

Shafaq didnt make any sacrifices IMO. She left a lone miserable life for a life with love and family, it was evident she never needed or cared about money.

At least Ulfat redeemed herself after all her mistakes, she even got punished. Shafaq got away with everything. No remorse, no punishment nothing. And in the end, Ulfat died and she got everything all to herself.

Both women were wrong, like I always said and apt end would be all 3 going their separate ways.

Naah dint feel like watching the whole drama - judging from whatever I have seen sofar. If Shafaq said that, then she is also in the wrong. However, I dont understand how she could possibly know that Ulfat will change completely after getting money? What if she hadnt? Ulfat's behaviour was her own doing. Nobody asked her to go crazy and go on a spending spree....nobody asked her to insult Shahaan - when he finally gifted her those golden earrings that she once craved for. Her being arrogant on her wedding anniversary party for some random high society party and then creating a massive scene in front of all the guests.

Dying isnt redemption. No..it needs a lot more strength to face the consequences of one's actions and actually live with it. Ulfat chose a self destructive path and she had nobody to blame except her own greed. Shafaq may have enticed her into taking money - but whatever she did after that was purely her doing.

well, neither Ulfat nor Shafaq were innocent here, which is one thing I liked about the show and probably the only thing that none of the women were a bechari.😆

Ulfat was a stupid greedy girl, an illiterate you can maybe call her because she was never taught the value of relations. She always saw money as important. (I guess its human nature to crave for the thing which you dont have)

Shafaq was a cunning woman who knew how to get what she wanted, which was love and a family. For that she used Ulfat's stupidity and admitted it to her face too later on. She called Ulfat a bewakoof and she said that the day Ulfat first came to her house, she saw the greed in her eyes and knew she could do anything to get rich. Shafaq knew that people like her who are gold diggers dont value relations, so she figured out what Shahans value is in her Ulfats eyes. She knew Ulfat values money over Shahan and would pick money anyday. She was clever. Basically, she understood Ulfats nature. She said to her that I did a sauda with you so that I could take your place, and you could take my place.

I dont see Ulfats death as a redemption. I see that as a way for her to get forgiveness and end her punishment. She had suffered for half of the drama whereas Shafaq barely suffered for one episode when Shahan learnt the truth. Ulfat couldnt have gotten a better ending than dying, otherwise she would have had to share her husbande for the rest of her life.

Read this line somewhere on Instagram under a MTA parting post that “baichnay waalay main laalach daali jaati hai jab k khareednay waala laalchi hota hai.” It’s funny how people judge Ulfat’s greed and in the same breath they ignore Shafaq’s envy. Greed is greed. Whether it is for money or a married man. Here’s a question for members of this forum: Is it only wrong when a sister does that? So you are allowed to harass a married stranger as long as it is not your sister’s territory? 🤔 Someone here asked what if Shahaan had done what Ulfat did. In my opinion it would have been more unpleasant, had Shahaan done it. I need to do a separate post for that and I will. This reply is already wordy so don’t want to add that here. That’s a long debate but trust me it’s not about gender discrimination. There are things that sound worse when a particular gender does it. A husband marrying his wife off to a wealthy man for money sounds more like baichna, especially if he is a Muslim. But just like @Unique.Sheep said, At least Ulfat redeemed herself. She learned from her mistakes and grew. Character development is a major component of any great story. Of course Ulfat embodied negative traits like greed and jealousy, but she also had a weak point (love for her husband) This weak point was the key to her redemption, and it was used to break past her armor and show her the need for change. She needed to experience something that would break her harmful worldview. In Ulfat’s case that experience was seeing Shahaan wounded because of her actions and suddenly witnessing the true effects of her behavior. This not only created an interesting redemption arc, but a believable one. Don’t know why people are calling that illogical? 😕 I think her arc was beautiful. However, to be believable, this arc required a major sacrifice on the part of her character—and I though it would be divorce but the writer killed her. 🥺 Usually, this style of redemption is best for characters whose actions have been so reprehensible that only the most severe consequences will redeem them. But I’m simply not convinced. I don’t think what Ulfat did it was so bad that only death could reverse it. This is why I feel bad for her. Why is it so shocking? Pakistanis loving Sultan Durani is ok. Y’all fantasizing about Mir Hadi isn’t shocking. Y’all feeling sorry for Hamza Khalid is cute but God damn Ulfat who deserves to burn in fiery pits of hell and for what? For not being able to reason with fear and greed and avoid its traps. It’s not that I feel bad for greedy people. The thing is that I actually feel bad for people running behind momentary happiness that is about to cause them several years of despair. Greed is wrong but it’s also true that logic and reason fade away in front of it. If Ulfat had a looking glass into the future, she wouldn’t have made the deal even if it was Bill Gate’s mansion. People rise up only when they fall down. That deal was Ulfat’s fall. And these last few episodes were her rise. Whereas Shafaq was Shafaq throughout the entire drama. No redemption. No development. No remorse. No journey. That’s so boring. 🥱
