I had heard such bad things about the movie but when I saw it I liked it😆
I don't know if characters like Bindu, the free spirited heartbreakers ever sit well with majority of the viewers. Even in a popular movie like 500 days of Summer initially people really disliked Summer.
I liked the movie. For me it dragged a bit and felt really long. It was almost 2 hours of the same story. I also wish the story was told in a different way. They made the movie more boring than it had to be
I was eagerly awaiting the film from it's first announcement in July 2016. They even previewed the song then and I ripped it onto mp3 and played it 200 times but when I watched the film I wanted to cry.
It was a CRAP fest. The guy was a new director, yes, but where did he train? I didn't see anything which would suggest he done a decent course or trained under another competent director. The film had nice music, amazing actors, and a lovely story... but after 30 minutes, the film just starts falling apart with it's random scenes and just beyond awful writing. There was so much wrong with it, I feel traumatised even thinking about it now.
The concept of unrequited love wasn't played out as effectively as it should have been. The pain, the anguish didn't come across with the authenticity and tonality which was required.
The characters were portrayed as too bland and uni-dimensional. The love story lacked the punch and even when they were united for a brief period of time, the scenes were too contrived and didn't register for long.
The movie was a tragedy but had comic overtones, and this ruined it IMO. Also, you didn't find yourself rooting for the two to be together. Parineeti came across as thoughtless and selfish, and Ayushmann's one-sided saga didn't have emotional depth.
I loved the songs though and the acting was convincing, the actors did what they could with a weak script.
It was pretty long , tiring and bland 😵
I gave up mid way
For me the same reason- I couldn't connect with characters and their emotions.
But this song and their expressions in it were fabulous
If i remember correctly the movie crashed on day 1 only. So it's failure was not really related to the script.. But the songs are love. Seriously one of the best albums of the year
I didn’t like it the first time I watched - immediate reaction. But loved the songs and I think later thinking about the movie - it wasn’t that bad. Just bit of poor execution.
The film grows on you. Hated the first time i watched in theatres but saw it so many times again during the lockdown, maybe cuz I had the freedom to fast forward the boring scenes 😆
