I can see this in two angles.

First angle -same like you , I am so mad with ex HMs telling everything to finalists - contestants would have no surprise after coming out. They came to know about each and everything, including how people called them outside.

Second angle - May be ex contestants are making their friends mentally strong to face the world outside. They were so hurt when they came out, seeing the reactions and abuse for them in SM. So if they say these to their friends in before, they can at least prepare themselves mentally to face outside trolling. esp for people who are worried about future and image (Rio, Bala).
