No, it seems like this is an illegal trade of smuggling moorthis. Cause even in yesterday's episode, the gunda that came to beat Shera up thinking he's Malhar said give me back my Vittal. So I think the confusion is that Kalyani is assuming this is a man. But it will be revealed this is a moorthi.

So I'm able to make out that there is some illegal smuggling racket going on. That's why Malhar is meeting with the jeweler to be able to recognize what is fake and real.

Since Anu also recognized the name of Vittal, I'm sure Malhar is uncover due to this smuggling racket only.
