Chapter 7
The next few days had gone by pretty peacefully. Ayushi had stopped asking Kalyani about her father as she didn't want her mother to be sad, whereas Kalyani had emerged herself into work.
Ayushi had met Moksh at school a couple of times but she didn't get to even see her hero which made her sad.
Moksh knew what the matter was and eventough he didn't want to somehow share his father with anyone, he couldn't see his friends sadness and decided to take her with him to his house.
Ayushi told Sanvi that she was going to go to a friend's house and she would call her to pick her up. Before her nanny could answer she ran to Moksh who was waiting for her. A driver had come to pick him up today.
When she entered his house (Ahilya Niwas, but the Deshmukhs don't live there anymore), her first impression was that the house is big and the second was that it lacked the warmth of a house.
The first person she saw was a woman who was dressed in an expensive saree and heavy jewellery. She didn't look that nice.
"Moksh, tumhe aane me itni der kyu hogayi? Aur yeh ladki kaun he?," she asked eyeing Ayushi from head to toe.
"Sampada Aai yeh meri friend he, Ayushi," Moksh replied.
Sampada's eyes narrowed and she just signalled them to come inside. Ayushi found that quite strange since she didn't even ask them how their day went like her Aai always does.
She just followed Moksh to his room who asked her to sit on his bed while he changed his clothes.
"Moksh tum apni Aai ko unke naam se kyu pukarte ho?," she asked as soon as he had come out of the bathroom. Moksh looked at her and scratched his head, wondering if he should tell her the truth or not.
"Kyunki... woh meri real Aai nahi he," he answered quietly, as if he was scared someone would hear him.
Ayushi was confused.
"Lekin tumhari asli Aai kaun he he aur wo tumhare saat kyu nahi rehti?," she asked.
Moksh shook his head and answered: "Pata nahi. Baba kabhi batate hi nahi he."
"Khair woh sab chodo, mai yaha sirf apne hero se milne aayi thi," Ayushi said sensing that Moksh was getting uncomfortable talking about this topic.
Right at that moment she heard Malhar calling out Moksh's name.
Moksh rushed out of the room and hugged his dad. Ayushi too came out and waved at him and seeing her, Malhar smiled.
Though Kalyani hadn't admitted the fact that Ayushi was his daughter, he was sure about it. Her antics, her features, they all reminded him of himself. He wanted to talk to Kalyani about it but no matter how much he disliked her, he still respected her feelings as a mother.
Ayushi too went to greet the person who she had come here for. She looked around to see if Sampada was there and she was relieved when she didn't find her anywhere. That woman really gave her bad vibes.
After a short interaction with Malhar she told him to drop her home as she didn't want her mother to get worried about her.
"Itni jaldi jaana he tumhe? Khair, theek he mai phone karta hu lekin usse pehle mere ek sawaal ka jawaab deti jaayo. Tumhare baba ka naam kya he?," he asked just to be sure about the whole matter.
"Mera baba ka naam? Pata nahi. Aai ne kabhi mujhe bataya hi nahi aur na hi mai kabhi unse mili hu," she answered making a sad face.
Malhar was feeling happy and sad at the same time. Happy, because he knew, she didn't consider anyone else her father which meant that Kalyani hadn't moved on and that relieved him for unknown reasons. But he was also sad as his daughter had spent all these years longing for her father.
"Waise, tumhe kaise baba chahiye?," he asked.
"Mere baba jaise bhi ho, chalega lekin meri Aai ne kaha he ki woh strong aur handsome he," she answered proudly which made Malhar smile.
He was glad that Kalyani hadn't made him seem like a bad person.
He told the driver to drive Ayushi back home.
He freshened up and was standing in the balcony of his room. He was thinking of how to confront Kalyani about Ayushi and whatever happend 7 years ago.

So chapter 7 is finally here and chapter 8 is almost finished so it should be up soon.
You'll get to hear the story of 7 years ago from Malhar's POV in the next chapter.
By the way, sorry if this chapter is a bit illogical and boring, I wrote it in a rush but the next chapter will hopefully be a better.
