Part 2
Kalyani tip toed towards the guest room where Shruti was staying. She peaked through the window and saw that she was deciding on what to wear. There were two dresses laying on the bed, one was a black, sleeveless one, ending just over her knees and the other one was a red, off the shoulder dress which was even shorter than the first one. Kalyani's eyes popped out of their sockets. Was she going to the movie theater or to a fashion show?
Kalyani was sure she was doing all this to get Malhar's attention. She really had to stop them from going otherwise who knows what will happen.
She went to the bathroom and filled a bucket with water, squeezed some soap into it and placed the bucket on a table near Shruti's room's door.
She heard the door unlocking so she quickly hid behind a pillar to watch the show.
As soon as Shruti opened the door it hit the table and the bucket started shaking. It was only a matter of seconds till the soapy water fell on Shruti's dress and bucket hit her toe.
"Ouch!," she squealed.
She was jumping around holding her toe but - Oh no! - she slipped because of the soapy water and fell down. Kalyani tried her best not to laugh out loud.
Hearing her scream Malhar came out.
"Kya hua? Tum..." He realized what was going on.
Kalyani too came out of her hiding place so nobody would suspect her.
"Haww, yeh kisne kiya?," she asked innocently.
"Woh sab badme puchna pehle koyi meri madad karo!," Shruti pleaded.
Malhar extended his hand but Kalyani quickly pushed it away and gave Shruti her hand. She got up and saw that her beautiful red dress was soaked and her favorite white heels were broken.
"Kisne pani ki balti yaha rakhi?," she asked angrily while rubbing her bottom.
"Pata nahi lekin jisne bhi rakhi usne ne bohut galat kiya. Tumhe kayi lagi toh nahi na?," Malhar tried to divert the topic. He very well knew who the culprit was but he didn't want to call her out in front of Shruti.
"Shruti hum ek kaam karte, hum movie kisi aur din dekhne jaate he. Aaj tum araam karo," Malhar suggested on which Shruti frowned.
"Yay!," Kayani had a big smile on her face but it disappeared as soon as she saw Shruti and Malhar's questioning faces.
"Mera matlab he, acha hua ki aap ne plan cancel kardiya warna kitni takleef hoti bechari Shruti ko," she tried to cover up.
Shruti passed a sceptical look to Kalyani and then turned to Malhar: "Malhar, mujhse theekh se chala nahi jaa raha he. Tum zara mujhe mere bed tak chodayo na."
"Kyu? Tumhara bed paas me hi toh he. Mai tumhari madad kardeti hoon," Kalyani tried to convince her.
"Nahi Kalyani, mai madad kar deta hoon. Tum bai ko kehke yaha sab saaf karwado," Malhar said. He then picked up Shruti in his arms and laid her down on the bed.
Kalyani gritted her teeth. No matter what she did to keep them both away, they still come together.
She went to her room and saw that her Pillu had woken so she took him in her arms and started rocking him, beginning her usual chit chat.
Malhar too arrived there. He wanted to scold her since what she did today was unacceptable and Shruti could've gotten severe injuries but then it was him who had instigated her.
So he just casually went up to her.
"Waise Kalyani tumhari padhai kaisi chal rahi he? Kahi chalte chalte bohut door toh nhi chali gayi na? Waise tum pichle do dinon se Moksh ka bahana kar ke college bhi nahi gayi. Yeh to galat baat he," he said.
"Ha, aap toh chathe he ki mai college jaayu aur meri peet piche aap Shruti ke sath romance kar sake," she murmured.
"Tumne kuch kaha," Malhar asked raising an eyebrow.
"Ha woh mai... mai yeh keh rahi thi ki aap Pillu ko sambhaliye, mai jaake dinner banati hoon," she replied and quickly left the room.
Malhar, Shruti and Kalyani were all sitting at the table and having dinner.
Malhar and Shruti were sitting next to eachother and having a fun conversation about their time in college, once again leaving out Kalyani.
"Woh bhi kya din the na Mallu," Shruti said reminiscing the old memories.
Kalyani's eyes shot up. Did this girl just call her Malharji Mallu? How dare she give him pet names.
Shruti put her hand on Malhar's arm on which Kalyani abruptly stood up from her chair making it fall.
"Mai abhi aayi," she said before she went to kitchen and closed the door with a thud.
How dare she touch somebody else's husband and give him nicknames. Looks like the soapy water wasn't enough! Oh she's going to regret all this soon.
She calmed herself down and went back to the dining table. She told that she was tired and was going to go to sleep early.
Arriving in the room, she took a pen and a piece of paper and started noting down her ideas to get rid of her wanna-be sautan.
She heard footsteps so she quickly hid the pen and paper under her pillow and pretended to be asleep. It was Malhar who had entered. He went to bathroom, took a shower and laid down on the other side of the bed.
The next morning, Kalyani's alarm started ringing but she didn't budge however the noise woke Malhar up.
"Kalyani utho warna tumhe der hojaayigi," he said with his eyes still closed.
Kalyani groggily sat up.
"Malharji meri tabiyat kuch theek nahi lag rahi," she said.
"Kalyani bahane mat banao," he responded.
"Nahi Malharji, mai sach keh rahi hu," she repeated.
Malhar yawned and sat up. He saw that Kalyani was indeed looking like she was sick as she was looking really pale. He touched her forehead and realized that she was having a fever. But little did he know it was all his wifey's plan.
Flashback
Kalyani had woken up early and headed straight to kitchen.
She couldn't go to college as she didn't want to leave Malhar and Shruti alone so had come up with a plan to stay at home.
She heated up some water and soaked a cloth in it. She took it out carefully not to burn her fingers and patted the cloth on her face for a while.
She then quietly went back to her room, took out the way too light foundation which she had accidently bought and applied it on her face. She then laid down on the bed feeling content.
He told her to stay at home and rest and he would take a day off.
"Lekin Malharji, aap toh pehle se hi chutti par he na?," she asked confused.
"Woh toh sirf do din ki thi. Ab khatam hogai he isliye phir se leni hogi," he explained.
Kalyani felt stupid.
'Ache khase police station jaa rahe the lekin nahi mujhe apna dimag chalana tha,' she thought.
Nevertheless, she couldn't change anything now.
Malhar went to the kitchen, got a bowl of water as well as a clean cloth and put the soaked cloth on Kalyani's forehead. He helped her in eating, accompanied her till the bathroom door, tied her hair, didn't let her do any household chores and even rejected Shruti's offer of going shopping.
Kalyani was overwhelmed by the amount of care and attention she was getting but she was also feeling bad for lying to Malhar. She thought of telling the truth to Malhar but she was scared that he might get angry with her so she let it be.
On the other hand, Shruti was boiling with anger. The care and worry which she saw in Malhar's eyes for Kalyani just couldn't let her stay peacefully. She wanted Malhar for herself but it seemed like he actually loved Kalyani. She had to do something before it got too late.
Back in KalMa's room, Kalyani was talking to Moksh, as usual.
"Pata he Pillu, mujhe na bahot bura lagraha he. Mai Malharji ki fikar ka galat faida utha rahi hoon yeh bimar hone ka natak karke lekin agar sach bataya toh wo mujhse gussa karege aur phirse uss chipkali ke sath jaake chipak jaayege. Pata nahin usme aisa kya hai jo mujhme nahin he. Kher, woh sab chod. Tu bas yeh doodh pile."
She made him drink his milk and he fell asleep in her arms.
Malhar had also arrived there with a tray in his hands. He fed Kalyani her dinner, gave her medicines, which Kalyani was hoping they didn't have any side effects as she wasn't really sick, and then made her go to sleep.
