I agree. There are many wrong things which are shown as a way to get away from your problems. Suicide is just one of them. And I thought of that topic because in the previous 3 days sucides were shown in 3 dramas as a way to get what you want. Ulfat in MTA and Ali Abbas' bhabi in GPM got what the wanted which was the care of their beloved ones. Ayat too was about to get SJ's love had she not died.😔

Most writers just use the excuse of suicide because they dont know what to do with the character

In many dramas suicides serve no propose except getting rid of an unwanted character. Like in Bala .. after Asad's both wives died..he killed himself.🤢 But it hurts me when the show a sensible character commiting a suicide for no valid reason like : Sajal in Yaqeen Ka Safar. 😔 or a teenager killing himself to prove his love to his teacher in Qaid.😒

Great topic 👍🏼

Suicide this never a solution. Difficult phases do come in everyone's life but in those times just remember that Allah is with us. Ending our life can never end our problems. For me suicide is lack of trust on Allah and on yourself.

A person who does suicide is simply a coward person he/she don't trust on the Maker of Universe and he/she don't trust his/her own capabilities.

I m against suicide in real life and not only in Pakistani dramas but also the content related to TV and films all over the world should not promote suicide. They rather promote that how's one should stay strong and face the problem with dignity and sabr. And believe this sabr in difficult phase actually give us peace of mind and a big reward as well not only in this life but also hereafter.

Like to add more suicides in recent dramas

Misha in Jalan which depicted such a wrong message.

Nadeem in Zebaish his suicide was like out of blue moon. Without any reason. Just to give depressing ending.

Asfi in Jalan, it did not get it why he ended his life. He has a small baby but instead of thinking of his baby he ended his life.

Yes. They show suicide as a solution to escape your problems. Meesha was depressed, Nadeem I think killed someone, and didn't want to go to jail, na? smiley5 Asfi ..I thought he had a natural death , similar to that of Noor Hassan in Bekhudi , so he killed himself?!smiley3

It is a very wrong message. Insteed of showing ppl dealing bravely with their matters.. they show them escaping them, and also highlight it to show that they are now united with their beloved ones like in Jalan where Asfi's sis said those words about Asfi and Meesha united by death.smiley44

I wish they ended those characters.. sadly 2 of them were saved, and they got what they wanted.😔

was qaid good?

No. It was an unending story of suffer . The lead female took crap from the ml and his stepmom for something which wasn't even her fault..

Well said Nina.👍🏼

Totally agree with you. It is by sabr and belief that we get away from our problems . 😃

I agree dramas shouldn't promote suicide. But it seems like drama makers think of dramas as entertainment. Actors too when asked about the negative characters they play, or the actions of their characters take it very easy saying that it is just a drama, you don't need to take it seriously. but the affect of these dramas became a subject of some studies , like this one :

https://mindframe.org.au/suicide/communicating-about-suicide/mindframe-guidelines/portraying-suicide-on-stage-and-screen

It is important that Pakistani tv becomes aware of the side effects of such suicide scenes. 😊

Just came through this :

https://www.dawn.com/news/1494208

More than 13,000 ppl killed themselves in Pakistan in one year?😲 But why? I didn't expect the numbers to be this huge. 😒

Misha was depressed but they does not mean the she should commit suicide without thinking about her new born baby. Depression is not an excuse of a haram deed.

No Nadeem suicide was without any reason. He did not killed anyone nor he has to go to jail. I did not get it why he committed suicide.

It was not clear but I think so he committed suicide.

Exactly promoting suicide and saying that now they got united Matlab seriously. They both were irresponsible individuals who did not once think about their child.

@Nina. Dilawar was killed by Nadeem.. this is why Nadeem killed himself. It wasn't shown properly in Zebaish though.🤪
