Captain should be a for deserving one or to check their capability. In fact the whole system of electing one is wrong. There should be rules like one can be captain for once only not forever.

I think even their families know they are in a game show and they are playing games. I don’t think they will be embarrassed about it. Beside going through a rough marriage/ divorce is nothing to be ashamed of. It’s 21st century, people are not shy away from this things anymore.

Although I do think every one of them lied to win that task.
