SD finally got fired😆 They actually argued a bit before she finally loses her patience and fires her. What actually led to firing was his words matched to exact words Veer said about her and then Veer was constantly calling her. I liked SDs dialogues today all of it. Its just heartwarming to see how easily he forms bonds and relationships with everyone.

He mainly argued that it’s probably his last anniversary with his wife, so it should be more emotional and about small things that brings happiness. Real emotions and not big gifts. I am so happy he was able to talk in a normal manner with Alia without getting bogged down😆

Veer called Alia for a meeting with divorce lawyer and asked for 50 percent share in all her properties. Alia ne bohot badhiya tareeke se usko baja dala🤣 The best was , she asks him to get up and turn around and says was checking if you had reedh ki haddi🤣🤣. She called him spineless, I really love the way she has dealt with Veer till now, she has maintained her class and dignity!

At home Rameshbhau and others try to cheer up SD and offer him the drink to forget everything, but SD is all pumped up to look for a new job 😆 I liked the arguments and back and forth here too. Both made valid points, SDs were ideologically correct and Rameshbhaus were based on what most people do on a day to day basis .

Precap: SD seems to be at someone’s house, I am guessing its Mr Poonawalas house, as someone kept calling on Alias phone and her phone died and then SD got a call and he says aap?

So he is decorating with balloons and Alia rings the bell and he opens the house and goes Tum? 😆

Oh cool, thanks for the S9MK epi update....I'll try to check it out aaj raat ko. I just caught a glimpse of the precap on YT and that looked kinda weird with Sarang on one knee holding some ring in front of Alia😕😆

But good to know Alia bajaaoed that loser husband of hers.....I might enjoy the epi for that scene😆

But word about the mom's character....I liked how she was trying to stand up for her daughter in her own small ways despite her husband being such a tyrant MCP types. The little bit where she says, "Main isliye darti hoon taaki tu bol sake" was one I quite liked.

And yes, word about the teacher - Aastha naam hai shaayad.....mujhe bhi yehi lagaa she will turn out to be the "Noor" that the ML's father texted.....I liked that scene on the bus where her head is jolted by the window for a bit and she stares at her sindoor reflection in a pensive way. Woh bus scene waise bhi achha tha showing Anokhi focused on her work while the other girls were busy singing filmy songs and mocking her for clapping distractedly.

But best was the debate scene.....that is when the girl earned some seetis and taalis from me.....I LOVED the bit when she's like, "I'm STILL speaking" when all the guys were trying to drown her out. We friggin live in a time where the US presidential election debates have MCPs talking over the woman when she's talking so ab kahaan se bolein ki yeh sab far fetched hai.....the world is STILL nauseatingly patriarchal and all we have are smug assholes who try to hide their MCP-giri behind token modernity but don't leave a single chance to run down any woman who dares to speak her mind.

Yup that was my fav part too the way she stood up against all the Booing and didn't let her confidence go down nervous nahi huinand still said her full baat with such valid points and put everyone in place i liked how teachers were impressed by her . That was the stand out moment and got my attention too

Re: ML....lol yes, he was just so beyond blahh with his token, "Meri mummy mujhe chhod ke chali gayi, that is why I want a housewife only" fundas.....lol matlab sure such guys do exist that want housewives jo ki ghar pe hi focus karein but why turn it into a sob story? Shivaay ka bhi same funda tha but he was candid about how he considered it to be a "practical" idea rather than an ideological thing and he owned that philosophy no matter how regressive. Woh baat aur thi that in practice, he never tried to run down an Anika because she worked....all he said was that he expects his own wife not to work.....and then ultimately the writers never bothered exploring it after Shivika's marriage....lol other issues overtook his basic personality flaws.

But this ML is a more obvious chauvinist and gives more villainous vibes too....so far toh koi bhi redeeming feature ya warmth nahin dikh rahi uske character mein.....Shivaay had his love for his daadi/brothers to humanize him.....yahaan so far kuch nahin hai.....but chalo aage dekhte hain kya hota hai.

Oh word about the double standard scene b/w beti and bahu too.....again, that scene felt depressingly realistic.....people don't even bother hiding their double standards in society for the most part.....betiyon ko sab allowed hota hai and bahus are judged extra harshly....harsh reality hi hai.....even if ppl say and do it cloaked in the veneer of "sophistication"....andar se wohi 2 Rs. mentality hoti hai.

LOL that PB waali daadi....now I realize why she looked familiar....haha thanks for reminding me.

Shivaay ka alag tha and isi liye it never as bothering caz uss ne yeh philosophy aise nahi thopi thi like this guy is doing it was also used for a bit if social messaging in Shivaay’s case. When pinky spoke out ke uske bhi dreams thay that she had to sacrifice to sso first time actually noticed pinky and went into his Oops my bad mode for a bit. That was actually added onto humanize him more it wasn't patthar pe Lapeer. Yeha he preffered a housewife but as you said uska grudge anika se kabhi bhi yeh nahi raha ke anika kaam kyon karto hai infact shaadi ke baad 2 din kia tha anika ne kaam 😆🤣 woh alag baat hai je uske baad everyone forgot that she actually had a job 🤣 and inki Cid giri kept them involved😆

Also idk shivaay even in bad phase in starting never had a clear-cut villainous vibe like this guy has and moonh pe aur dil main aur this guy is literally moving around with a mukhauta over his face

The whole maa chid gayi toh aisa ho gaya really grated on my nerves iske saath toh zahir sa hai ke jhoot hi bola gaya hai toh instill those mcp beliefs in him. Woh mummy ka mujhe bhi lag hi raha hai she was forced to leave isi liye now she doesn't seem to care as much usne message bhi mahi dekha and she is bitter caz pati toh pehle hi piyakar and nikkamma tha probably didn't even stand up for her but he seems to still be fond of her of sorts isi liye message kia.

Dusra I was amused by the spin on her name the noor and aastha the divinity factor in it 😆

The mother-daughter scenes are so lovely....crisp and effective without going into too much melodrama despite the helplessness they are both feeling in different ways.

Anokhi's way of taking a stand is also well done without bratty naarebaazi.....she is firm about wanting to achieve her dreams per her capabilities and refuses to back down in the face of any emotional blackmail.....even that bit where she tells her mother ki mere par hain toh main udd hi jaaungi if my dad tries to force me into shaadi.....maa ke liye bhi she isn't willing to surrender to this helplessness.....bechaari maa bhi slapped her simply to save her from the father's wrath.....but otherwise she doesn't stop her daughter from spreading her wings.....interesting dynamic they share.

Baaki the suffocating misogyny that Anokhi is facing all round....again sadly not an exaggeration....bahut aise log and aisi families hain.

So that Aastha madam hi Noor hai....Shaurya ki mom.....so seems like she left her husband to pursue her career....and Shaurya ko yeh dikhaya gaya hai that his mom left him for her career.....I'm pretty sure baad mein dikhaa denge that this lady was put through some impossible choices for why she had to leave her kid behind. And likely that Shaurya will MU Anokhi cuz she looks up to his mom....

LMAO@ Razia Bi ka name being DEVI in this show😆.....I've never seen Alka Kaushal play a character who speaks crisp English before.....lol....kaafi modern character hai iska yeh wala.....baaki wohi typical family dynamic hai ki father ko nikamma bol diya hai and the taya-tai have established themselves as the heads of the family that everyone bows before.

It's probably too much to hope but I would like to see Anokhi continuing to stand her ground about not giving in to shaadi as end all and be all.....and please no to majboori waali shaadi of this MCP and Anokhi.....better they show them clashing ideologically for a bit. I guess initial part of story will have them clashing in the college where he teaches.....baad mein toh shaadi hi karvaayenge but I guess this Anokhi will not cow into any chauvinistic attempts to clip her wings and ultimately will "reform" the MCP pati....lol

The notable difference from Savage Devi Sai wala show is that wahaan ppl are flat over a pati "allowing" his wife to continue college post shaadi and helping her become a doctor....while here the girl is choosing to herself pursue everything on her own dum, kisi ki meherbaani pe nahin....especially kisi aadmi ki meherbaani nahin. The power imbalance is atrocious in that Sai wala show but it's being hailed simply cuz the girl maaroes blunt retorts? lol firstly why show an 18 year old in a shaadi, no matter how "supportive" her so called pati is? That is the fundamental problematic aspect of that "concept"......everything else is moot.

Apparently yeh bhi remake hai and suna hai around 200 tak decent hai uske baad lockdown ho gaya and now they have gone down toh dekhte hain yahan kab tak chalta hai 200 toh abhi bohat durr ki baat hai😆

I loved the mother daughter scene the understanding the other stand out moment was the mother holding her hand down to make her stop from making the situation worse with dad but all her anger was understandable galti kya hai anokhi ki iss bechari ne kuch kia bhi nahi aisa sirf ek wifi ka signal hi toh kia pados se ya thidi daer se ghar aayi ek din koi aur mohalle main bhaga lekin uski saza anokhi ko milegi in terms of jhat shaadi uhh what but again it isn't far fetched at all hence it was believable

He deffo has a sinister vibe....but again, that may just be the actor himself....lol I feel like I've seen him in some movie or something in a small role too but ab yaad nahin aa raha.....as of right now, they are showing him as a modern MCP....woh log jo upar se "educated" lagte hain par andar se regressive hote hain.....that is why woh mukhaute waali feeling I guess. They need to show more about him beyond the broken sagaai and maa ke liye resentment to get any sense of his character. Overall, the actor is playing him in mostly understated way.....matter of fact hai apne misogyny mein bhi. Like he kept saying that he was upfront with Shagun about what kind of wife he wanted but she's the one who sprung the PhD on him.....so in his eyes, he feels betrayed by this change in direction.

If they show the backstory of the mom and what happened with some nuances, maybe it will add some meat to the ML's character....so far nahin hai. I liked that scene of the other bahu talking to her mom too....where she was also confused how a supposedly modern educated man can have such a backwards mentality.....the fact that the other lady hesitated to reveal the whole truth does seem like there is more to the story about why his mom left than what's being shown.

Haha at the spin on divinity in both names....good catch.....I'm wondering then which one is her real name.....Noor or Aastha.

Oh I loved that scene too.....both mother-daughter taking turns holding each other's hands to support each other while the father ranted on with his nonsense....badaa hi subtle and well-directed bit tha to show their bond. I think it's these few nuances scenes that are making the show watchable right now.

Haan I know yeh bhi Bengali show ka hi remake hai.....saw it mentioned somewhere....but I guess for once this one is not about a love triangle....lol the other Bengali show remakes all seem to be about patnis dying for pati prem and fighting against "vamp"....this girl seems the opposite of that so far. Good to know ki 200 epis tak decent hai.....lol I guess better idea hoga once Shaurya-Anokhi actually start interacting.....

Watched both the episodes and I really liked it!! Love the casting , most of them are solid actors and known faces! It gives me hope the overall story will be good. Its a wonder that even though most men in the show are MCPs and some women are enablers, the show did not go OTT, it actually felt real while watching. Most of the shows nowadays try to show this in a very in your face way without getting their nuances correct.

The biggest USP so far are the actors , treatment of the show and absence of jarring visuals.

The actor playing Anokhi is so good and absolutely love her character. Its so balanced without going overboard at any point. The debate scene was fantastic. It was simple , yet effective! The way the guy put his points forward, he was clearly angry with what he thought was a preferential treatment given to woman and putting across his points saying women are ALLOWED to do so much . That one word just changed the course of debate, seems so inconsequential but carries such a weight.

The thing is , they are just taking the everyday stuff we all say casually without even realizing how much it reveals misogyny and patriarchy in our society and that is why it is more effective than high voltage preachy scenes. The scene where DIL was told off for her cleavage and she just looks at the daughter of the house, nicely done👍🏼 The good thing is DIL is actually shown to be nice and not like a typical vamp( atleast till now😆)

Love Anokhi and her mother relationship:)) The last bit when they hold each others hands in comfort in turn, when dad is spewing his nonsense, was comforting and heart breaking.

I am just neutral towards ML for now, he looks a bit thakela or may be thats his character requirement for now😆. Baaki its a good thing that atleast the Sabhrewals make it clear before shaadi only that they are MCPs 😆

Looks like some kind of force marriage will only happen😵 Hope they find a better reason and not a typical hate and ego shaadi:((

Asthas character also seems interesting, hope they give some spine to her husbands character 😆

OMG! I wrote the exact same thing😲😆 Mera bhi same to same!

The show has a little bit of Zaroon , Kashaf, her mom and dad bits . Not comparing the characters at all as they are quiet different and their struggles too. But when mom talks about how leaving her husband was not an option, dad considering beti as bojh and treating them like trash, ML having that chauvinistic side and FL who is just very direct with her words and her focus.

Haha Spidie, you also succumbed and watched, haan? Welcome to the discussion😆....we need an easy acronym for this show.....the title is so long otherwise.....lol

ROFL@ ML being thakela being his character requirement for now🤣.....yeah he's pretty mehh so far but I guess it's not enough to turn me off the show so I'll tolerate him for now😆

Yes, whole family is very open about their misogynistic views....lol kisi ko bhi dhoke mein nahin rakha hai......but yeah I'm also dreading how Anokhi will end up married to this guy.....hope that bit is far off for now.....they've made such a big deal out of Anokhi saying she won't let her life goals be sacrificed at the altar of shaadi that atleast usko thoda time toh dein in pursuing those.....I do feel for 50-60 epis, they will show her clashes with Shaurya in the college......uske baad hi hoga jaise bhi weird hate shaadi ho.....don't want to think about it abhi.

Compared to lame wannabe savagefests *cough* Sai Maata *cough*, this show looks better for now😆....so fingers crossed.

Yeah I mentioned it yesterday too that I liked that scene too with the other bahu asking so bkuntuntly and indirectly supporting this sto be SIl ke itni bhi koi outrageous thing nahi ki usne ke rishta hi tod do for what just trying to get nore education and asking for 2 yrs in-between shaadi and sagaai. The fact is she never said she will do job or anything all she was saying was she got the admission and she wants to accept it and do it kyunki ab ho gaya hai toh what's wrong in it.

Agreed they need to add more nuance to the hero as of now he is just too blah

I think ashtha is actually noor only she probably have converted or was made to in that family but her hubby might be against it hence she's noor only or maybe that's some pyar ka name. Ya phir isne identity change kar li izzat se rehne ke liye on her own terms after she left or whatever
