When in love.
Part 2
When you love someone, whether you want it or not, it pours out of your eyes, your every word, your every look. Love is a force that can't be stopped. It's futile to attempt to hide it, it's a waste to attempt to suppress it. As even if you did try, it will still find a way to make its presence known.
Asad goes through something like this when he was asked about the time he saw her first.
Zoya is into the moment, weaving her own fairytale and wanting it to be believed.
But Asad, doesn't even think of a false story to narrate. He does not think, does not have to think, as the first time he saw her, was a moment he had held close to his heart for a long time. It was just his. The first time he saw her was sacred to him. It was the first time he felt his heart beat faster. It was the first time he felt he had a heart that beat in his chest.
As they say, the truth shall set you free.
And Asad cannot stop himself from recalling that fateful moment, that heartstopping moment when his eyes landed on a girl dressed as bride. And he couldn't look away. Try as he might, he hadn't wanted to, but couldn't stop looking at her.
She was beautiful yes. but her beauty was not that trapped him in her, no. She was beautiful, but she looked broken. She was crying. And his heart was breaking.
He was mesmerized and he was in pain. He didn't know what had happened, why, such a beautiful girl, hands filled with henna, was wiping her own tears. Why couldn't he look away?
The words cannot be stopped. And somehow, his heart bleeds into them.
"Aansuyon se ghiri, duaa maang rahin thi.."
And how he wished he could help her somehow. And that's what had made him turn away.
Yet, by that lost look in his eyes, it truly feels as though he's not on that sofa but on the hard floor of the mazaar once again, finding her for the first time once again, wanting to know her once again.
This memory is his. He is not aware of her sitting next to him clutching his arm and looking at him as though seeing him for the first time too. He doesn't look up at his Ammi and Tamatar nor he is doing this for that annoying officer of the law who wants to take the equally annoying love of his away from him.
It's just for him. And that, is what I love about this scene the most.
Karan, my heart beats faster everytime you lower your voice, gaze into an unknown abyss and speak words of yearning. Ugh. And I know this effect of yours will never go away. Lucky me. ❤️
