RS also did not have any backing when he entered the industry. BBB worked only because of content.
When a movie is planned a lot of actors are approached. One ends up doing it, doesnt mean he/ she snatched it from others. Unlike they do something apparent and get another actor replaced like RK did with BV.
Sushant, Ranveer and farhan were in the running for BMB which Farhaan ended up doing in the end.
BM was fixed during shoot of RL only and then Padmaavat, SLB himself said he was after RS to play khilji and had to do a lot to convince him to play the baddie.
Ankita and Sushant were together then, she said they both were offered films by SLB and they refused it due to their own reasons. Sushant was with UTV that time, kai po che and RL released in same year too.
SLB was not the blockbuster director that he is now.. He was coming out of saawariya and Guzaarish that tanked at the BO.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but I get this feeling whenever I see his face in SSL movie.
