Second, she can keep a check on Sairat. Samrat and his mother are just means to an end for her.

I think that she understood that even if she refused to marry Samrat, Viraat would have never married her. There would have been no place in his life because his brother matters more than her so she chose to marry Samrat to become a part of his life any way she could.

Yeah but Sai very cleverly pointed out to the family that Pakhi came to her room at night asking for medicines. Sai sees through Pakhi and thus knows how to handle her.
